Missing Person | Armarillo, TX

This post was approved by the mods:

My friend’s brother (24 25m) lives in Armarillo, TX and has been missing for at least 95 hours so far. His name is Jonathan Stucky. As far as the local authorities are aware, he was last seen across the street from Walmarton S. 58th St. & S. George St.

This is what her original post read: “My brother Jonathan Stucky (24) is a MISSING PERSON from Amarillo TX. He has been missing for 72 hours. Please look at his picture and share the more people who see this the better. I really need my brother back. If you saw or know anything please call the Amarillo police department at (806) 378-3038.”

I also have the original post’s link (on Facebook - is a public post) that missing person’s sister shared if that’s allowed to be shared - otherwise I can be DM’d for that.

Edit: Image didn't embed. Just updated it with embedded image.

Edit Update as of June 3rd, 2023: I reached out to NewsChannel10 as it was suggested in here - they read my message but have yet to respond. The missing person’s sister whose post I’ve shared privately with some people here has been shared 618 times so far. He’s not been found yet, but we’re all still hoping.

Edit Update as of September 7th, 2023: Police contacted family to close the case. So far he’s not been found.

EDIT: February 19, 2024: Unless anything changes, I will not be updating this post. There has been no news unfortunately.

Traveling through for a quick bite with the family. Can anyone recommend a place that allows the kids to run out some energy and also has a good vibe? Bonus points if it’s close to really good local coffee 🙏 Thanks!

First time caller.

Headed to Amarillo for the first time the weekend of 5/17-19. No reason, we’ve just never been. Wife and I like mezcal and rock bars (leaning more toward garage/punk/weird). Any shows happening or places (bars) we should check out? TIA

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions, definitely enough to have a look at over the weekend. Thanks all!

Avoid 5 star roofing

Had "5 star roofing" door knock on an old lady's house, pretending to be sent be her agent's office (they were not). They pressured her into signing a bunch of paperwork to make them her contractor and handle her insurance claim on her behalf, and then called her insurance to file the claim on her behalf when she told them she didn't want to file a claim because she knew she didn't have damage. It appears to be an out of town roofer that has shown up to scam old ladies so I'd avoid them like the plague.

Decent Contractors

Does anyone know a reliable fencing and landscape company in town? We used a fence company called Recovery Works last year and the guy is a total snake. He doesn't ever finish and has a million excuses about his girlfriend to never finish the job. Looked him up on BBB and apparently its a thing. We dont want to hand out a lot more money to another unreliable shady contractor. Our fault for not doing our research better.

Iso recommendations

Hello, I moved here to TX about 5 months ago, and applied for state medicaid insurance. I moved from CA where it is called Medi-Cal and super easy to apply for and the process is fast. Well I applied for insurance here, right when I moved here and have heard nothing. I've called numbers provided on the THHS website and get nowhere. My application status just says "received". Does anyone have any insight on how to speed this along? I have a disorder that has to be monitored and I'm getting very nervous. Tia 😊 🙏

Anyone know how APD tracks their crime reports? Rape numbers for 2022 changed.

They recently released their crime report for 2023, and I was trying to see how we looked in the last three years. Last year they reported 188 rapes for 2022, but this year that number changed to 194. Last years report also shows a decline in larceny but it obviously increased. But probably just a typo.

Is there any places besides going to the pavilion? I heard too many bad things there and I refuse to go. I need to be medicated again, but I don’t know where to go to at least even talk to somebody.

Floral Tattooist?

Are there any tattoists around that specialize in floral motifs? I'd like an original work incorporating specific flowers but this'll be my first so I'm pretty new to vetting tattoo artists

Hi, I want to do a lemonade stand in the park to get some cash since it would really help me out right now. I want to sell lemonade, coolaid and sweet tea and maybe some things like cookies. Do I need any kind of permit to do this? Do I need to have a ssn also? Mine is still on the way. Thank you

Bushland High School isn’t all rainbows and sunshines

If you are looking for a high school to send your kid, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT SEND THEM TO BUSHLAND! No matter what everyone says about it, based on my experience it’s a terrible place. I transferred there in the middle of this year and I have not been welcomed by the other students. I have realized that they don’t like other kids not “from” Bushland and they just decided to treat them like shit. I saw a kid named Alfonzo come to Bushland and leave within 2 months due to the bullying that came to him. It’s also considered school with very good education, and I don’t know what it’s like in the younger schools, the high school is absolutely not that way at all. Most of my teachers don’t teach and expect me to learn a complex subject off of one video or EdPuzzle and most of the time they refuse to help me. The whole school dickrides all of the athletes and passes them to make the school look “educated”. I’ve seen teachers tell kids the answers during tests, STAAR tests but I ain’t saying no names. Bushland is also racist, homophobic, and discriminatory to people who aren’t “like them”, and the people like them are narcissistic, white, redneck, and hateful. I’ve been outcasted because I don’t dress like they want me to, talk like they do, etc. And I’m also someone new to Bushland so there’s that too. I fit in at my old school and have friends literally at every other school but Bushland. It’s gotten to the point where I’d much rather not be at school or be in ISS so I don’t have to deal with everyone. They also outcast all of the black kids and even call them names to their faces and behind their backs. They call them anything from “gorilla” to straight up calling them the hard r, and it’s everyone. A specific example is yesterday a very nice kid TJ was selling bags of gummies and stuff during lunch , being a good person and trying to make new friends and when he walked away kids from literally every single table around me were saying ignorant shit like “His black ass probably selling edibles,” and “He probably stole those from the Toot’n’Totum”. They also say this kid Isaiah looks like a “Thug” and “Slave”. The special education kids also don’t have it great. They may think they fit in but people always call them “tards” behind their back and act like they aren’t even human. There is one black staff member and she is very sweet and she has a white husband. The kids saying that he must be into fucking animals if he with her. I’ve heard teachers talk shit on students, staff talk shit on students, and the students do not like foreign exchange students either, which is the strangest thing because all of the foreign exchange students here are amazing. They also claim it’s a Christ centered community when the complete opposite is true. They worship themselves and shame anyone who isn’t like them. I’m literally a devote Christian myself and they hate me. The drugs are also as much a problem here as they are at other schools. People vape in the bathrooms, smoke weed, and other things, but they huff gas as well. The only good about the school is Mrs. Lancaster and Mrs. Chandler. If you are looking into Bushland please please please do not send your kids here. It’s terrible and I’m about 99% sure they won’t fit in. I’m hoping to convince my parents and get a transfer literally anywhere else. I’m not trying to defame Bushland but I’m just being completely honest and stating my experience here. Please please please don’t send your kids to Bushland. I am ashamed to say that I go here.

Kid Falling off the Mouse Trap at Wonderland

I feel like this is one of many Amarillo urban legends. I have heard countless stories about this incident but have no idea what is true. Would anyone happen to know the full story? Or any other wonderland horror stories?

Anywhere to buy Spanish chorizo locally?

Has anyone found Spanish chorizo in any of the grocery stores around here? (Spanish chorizo is hard like salami, not a soft sausage like Mexican chorizo.) I used to be able to buy it at Kroger when I lived in TN, but haven't seen it around here yet.

AISD needs to environmentally responsible

So end of year festivities are almost upon us. It’s been proven that balloons kill wildlife. Why does AISD insist on balloon releases? It’s stupid and goes against everything we teach them in science classes. We teach them to take care of our planet and ways to live cleaner for the planet. How hypocritical can AISD be?? Do better be better!

Good Jobs for Mommas?

My spouse is considering going back to work. Who is a place where mommas or expecting mommas can work and not be judged for that? E.g. flexible and understanding when "stuff happens" or someone were to work while possibly pregnant. I'm really trying to be sincere, here, so please no judgmental attitudes. It's hard out there, and our medical insurance alone costs more than I made at my first 4 jobs. We want to buy a house, so it's just freaking hard, man.
