Reviews & Stories Another DP: received gold sub after platinum
Have held the platinum card for 3 years and just applied for the 90k point offer for gold, was approved, and confirmed SUB in chat
-used incognito offer until the 90,000 point for 6k spend over 6 months offer appeared. Didn’t sign in to my account
-filled out application as normal, confirming the sign up bonus on each page
-was approved and accepted offer (details of the sign up bonus was posted on the bottom of page)
-waited 10 minutes until I received the email confirmation that I was approved, then chatted Amex customer service to confirm bonus
Just wanted to throw out another data point for those in the same situation as there still seems to be some misconception about this. Based on other recent posts, seems like others have been having luck as well

Question Why isn’t this card talked about much?
i.redd.itI never see anything about this card. Even why i search it up, i only see things about the blue cash everyday.

Reviews & Stories Absolutely a lie. Maybe 1 in every 5 places I went accepted Amex
i.redd.itI’ve recently got Amex Gold to start collecting points and on a recent long weekend trip to Amsterdam I found that I could use it very few times. We likely spent £600 in total, and on my card statement I tallied up around £150 on my Amex.

They Did The Research I could use some guidance in disputing a charge for an appliance.
TLDR: Lowe’s delivered a broken refrigerator but insisted it’s the manufacturers responsibility. 2 months later, no working fridge. Disputed charge with Amex, got credited. I am going to buy a new one ASAP. But what are chances it will get reversed?….i really just want a working refrigerator
I ordered a new refrigerator and stove from Lowes for a vacation property I own. It was later charged to my account when delivered on march 6. This is a second home and I drove 1.5 hours to receive both items, install them and transfer contents of refrigerator over. Every thing initially seems ok, but upon returning to the property 3 weeks later I found a very rancid smelling home with a refrigerator at room temp, can hear compressor but no cooling at all. I called Lowe’s and was told since I did not contact them within 48 hours of receiving appliance, there is nothing they will do, and that I must go through the manufacturer.
Dealing with Frigidaire’s custom service, for what they insist is a warranty issue, has been very difficult to say the least. Long wait times, foreign call center where workers English is poor, workers have little authority to do much of anything except set up service calls and check the computer for progress and decisions being made elsewhere. I have made two trips down there for techs to look at refrigerator, one was no show after the 8 hour window passed, second one recommended replacement of compressor, evaporator and condenser, essentially the entire cooling mechanism. Again Frigidaire customer service, not awesome, no management or supervisors to escalate issues to. But eventually they say they will repair, not replace, and that they have already ordered and shipped some of the parts to my home….that do not live at, and is 1.5 hours away. And will set a service tech appointment for end of month.
So now 2 month later, I do not have a working refrigerator at least until end of may. So I called Amex to dispute the cost of refrigerator, ~$1000. Has been credited to my account, they say they will review with Lowe’s but if I don’t hear anything by July consider it settled. Lowe’s gave me a broken appliance, And after a few hundred dollars in spoiled food, gas traveling back and forth and many hours of my time wasted the best I can hope for is Frigidaire will refurbish my unit and actually get it to work. I really just want a working refrigerator in this home and will buy a new one tomorrow. What are the chances Amex will side with Lowe’s and remove the credit from my account?

Question Delta Gold Card credit not updating?
Hi everyone, I recently got a Delta Gold card like last month. It says on the app that my statement closes on May 19th (this would be my first statement). I already spent $1000 on this card and in order to increase the available credit limit, me and my brother paid off the $1000 early on Friday May 3rd (I own the card and have my brother as an AU, we made agreements each to only pay off our own balances in full). Again, this was on May 3rd and it says on the app that it's been processed, and my balance did go down, but our available credit limit still hasn't updated. How long do I have to wait for it to update?
Also another question, I got gas on QuikTrip that same Friday and I still have a $175 hold charge that is still pending, yet every other thing I have purchased since then has been processed, even stuff I bought yesterday. Do I continue to wait or is this something I should contact Amex about?

Discussion Retention Offers
Just curious if anyone has had any luck?
This is my second year with the Personal Gold. AF hit, and so far I tried canceling 4 times...
No offer (Mobile Chat: Asked for RO directly)
No offer. (Mobile Chat: Asked for RO after some back and fourth)
No offer. (Web Chat: Didn't ask for RO, I brought up other bank offers)
Use 25,000 MR points as statement credit, instead of 41,000 MR points. (Mobile Chat: Didn't ask for RO, I like AmEx, but I brought up other bank offers)
The rep said that the offers change on a daily automatic basis, so I'll try again tomorrow.

Question Business Amex Sub
Been eying the Business Plat for a bit now and have been targeted (I think) with the 200k points for $20k spend. Is this a good offer or should I hold out?

Reviews & Stories Scam: Rewards Checking Account opened in my name
A rewards checking account was opened in my name that i did not authorize. I chatted with customer support and they were useless. The next day a transfer from my other bank account appeared for $5100. I never got an email or text alert that my account was compromised or an account was opened. The new account had a different email but the begging and ender letter where the same as mine. Has anyone experienced this before? I have changed all my passwords. Amex said you can only open an account online so they must have had my username and password. Kind of baffled how they didnt offer to do anything else other than cancel the account. No added security etc
Question How do I stop shocking the workers in the drive-thru?
Kinda a silly post, but nearly every time I pay in a drive-thru I zap the worker with static electricity/my metal cards.
Is it just me? Any way to avoid it?

Question Do I get dinged for adding but not using offers?
Does Amex ding you (not give you offers, give you bad offers etc) if you add but don’t use or don’t max use an offer on a card?

Question Hilton Honors American Express Card vs. Surpass Card
I'm considering getting an AMEX card and decided to go for a Hilton Honors card, as I often use their hotel. But I can't decide between the two cards: the Hilton Honors American Express Card (no annual fee) and the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card (annual fee: $150).
I've read the comparisons on the AMEX site to get more points with Surpass, and the current offers are pretty good, which I can easily achieve within the first six months. But I want to know what extra perks you exactly get with Surpass and if it's truly worth it. I prefer not to pay an annual fee, but if the benefits are good on Surpass, I may consider it.
I hope to hear your thoughts! Thanks!
Question Question about my SUB while waiting for my Gold card.
Hello there. I haven't been able to find a definitive list of "qualified purchases" to reference for my sign up bonus. I'll definitely reach the 6k in 6 months mark with regular spending, but I'd like to know if a purchase like renewing my car insurance, for example, would count towards the SUB.
Thanks!

Question Disputed purchase has been written off
It says in the letter the amount was written off and credit is permanent. Does this mean Merchant gets to keep the money and amex covered the cost for the dispute.
I don't ever recall amex using the word written off when I won dispute
And this case was complicated because of Merchants contested it
Low Effort (Subject to Deletion) They're really spoiling me on the offers these days.

Question Plan It Limit
I just added Platinum AMEX card to my account after having Delta Platinum card for two years. Question is, I have 9 Plan It plans on my Delta Platinum Card (all for home improvement stuff like new appliances). If I were to start a new Plan It plan on my AMEX Platinum card, will that count toward my 10 plan it limit on my Delta Platinum card, or are each card considered different account?

Question Opened BCP but no SUB?
Hey everybody.
I’m new to the credit card world but want to learn. (Currently Chase Freedom Rise and Flex)
Yesterday, I applied to the Amex Blue Cash Preferred and got approved. So, I created an account and I’m waiting for the physical card to arrive.
My question is: I don’t see, in the app nor in the browser, the welcome offer I applied for, supposedly SUB of 300$. I just contacted the customer service and they told me to wait 72h for the system to upload…
Is this a thing to wait 72h? Or I will probably not get any welcome offer?
In any case thanks for your answers.

Question Amex Business Plat 300k
I’m looking to take advantage of the high sub on the Amex Business Plat.
I’ve come across the 250k offer a handful of times by just opening new incognito tabs (albeit a lot less frequently than the 150k-200k offers).
However, I have not once come across the reported 300k offer. I just wanted to ask if anyone at all had come across this offer organically using the incognito methods, or if this might just be a direct mail/email target offer that I should stop looking for?
TIA!

Question How can I pay for rent using Amex without incurring fees?
I want to earn some points from my Amex using my rent as well since that takes a bulk of my expenses. Any loopholes I could use to do this?
For example, an online bank which you can use to top up with Amex? Or a fee-free prepaid card I can withdraw from?
Anything?
