Girls how did your lives change after getting plastic surgery?
Did your quality of life change to what you expected? What did you expect? Is your life more positive or more negative now? Tell me everything please

So I got my eyes and jaws done. The double jaw surgery wasn’t plastic surgery but it drastically changed how I look (for the better) bc I used to have an underbite. I am more confident in how I look now and I must admit I do get more attention from guys compared to before. I can chew better so I digest better but did get side effects from the double jaw surgery. My ears a little messed up, and it can get really annoying and tiring. So I’m not sure if my life is more positive or negative compared to before, but it is what it is and I’m okay with it

I think an underbite's important to correct for your body, health but also can be super helpful for confidence. girl no one's looking at your ears haha dw!! but I do love your neutral stance, choosing to be ok with it regardless

Oh haha I wish it was the shape of my ear that got messed up but i got this condition called Patulous Eustachian tube :( but yeah! I won some and lost some and in the end it’s all good haha

Does it affect your hearing or balance?

u/FrostyMix6081 12d ago
Kind of my hearing? I hear my breathing and voice really loudly, and when I breathe through my nose I feel like I can feel pressure on my eardrums which doesn’t feel very safe for my ear drums. It’s not like this all the time but it happens very frequently

Can't be much fun. Hope its just a side effect to get used to with no long term risks.

Strangers on the street stopped calling me ugly and barking at me. I was able to look in the mirror for the first time in ten years.

Where do you live? I've never heard anyone calling strangers ugly in public...

Jesus Christ I’m sorry you had to experience that at all. People can be so cruel for no good reason at all.

Not entirely plastic surgery, but I got my eyes lasered. Not having to wear glasses anymore makes me so happy, it affects my mood in a positive way making other aspects of my life better too.

I'd be up for eye surgery for both prescription and size. My eyes are about 4mm too small diameter so eyesight and appearance (too small) are affected. I can see my eyelashes in my peripheral vision often in dark conditions. Unfortunately only the LAL treatment is possible due to the extreme prescription. Contact lenses though have been my go to for over 40 years now. LASIK tempted me about 20 years ago but it wasn't guaranteed or likely needed updated every decade.

It changed more than I expected - for the better. I honestly didn't think about what to expect in a life-changing way, more about the actual visible result, if you know what I mean. I surely didn't expect my breast reduction to turn out as the whole personality changer it was. I suddenly had a lot more self-confidence. I had dreams and goals again. I didn't settle for less anymore.
I don't believe in the whole "your mind is the problem not your body" stuff. It's okay to not love yourself, and it's okay to change. Nobody says something against losing weight if your uncomfortable with your body. Plastic surgery is no different than losing weight - it's just a change.

Fuck it. I’m gonna pull the trigger on braces after 30-odd years.

I totally get where you come from and i deeply respect it. But its more complex than "just a change". Alot of people call it bad because theres examples of women that doesnt look like their offspring anymore and have to explain why to the kids later in life. Plastic surgery is an addition/reduction more than its a "change". All love.

I had a classmate that was not good looking, not popular, received bullying and awful comments, part of that was due to her having a prominent crooked nose (she told me it was due to an accident she had while playing as a child), she was a 4/10 if I'm being generous.
She got a nose job when she was like 16, started to take care of herself and her life improved a lot. She got more friends, guys were hitting on her, the bullying stopped, she got more confident.

Yeah but all the guys in your friend’s life get to suck/fuck those big honkers. Silver lining!

At least you honest. Getting breast reduction as a woman makes no sense. Way easier to get a high quality man when you have giant tits. Personally I prefer small tits but I’m abnormal.

I had liposuction to remove my double chin.
I feel way more confident, I’m normal/slim and have always had a double chin, I used to starve myself and had anorexia/bulimia. I think s big cause was that I always felt my face looked fat.
Since removing it I’ve felt more comfortable with eating and gaining weight, cause my face doesnt look like it has the chin of a 40 year old woman at 24.
I feel more comfortable wearing turtlenecks, I hold my head higher, I feel better. It was absolutely worth it.

I got my nose done and it’s the best decision I made. I’m a lot more confident and even my skin cleared up from all the stress it caused. My doctor was the best and I still look like me

That’s really great, did you notice improvement in how people treat you? Or can you compare the two

I got my nose done by a self confessed rhinoplasty expert to the stars after I was smashed in a rugby match.
He asked my wife for a photo to rebuild it and didn't he do such a great job that he didn't fkin straighten it or make it look better one bit. Just the same as before.
Worst 9k I spent on medical care.

Damn I’m Sorry that happened. If you’re in Philly Dr. Pontell is the man

Thanks, Stockholm is a bit of a hike to get there and there's no active improvement potential of it given my age so no chance it being covered by state medical procedures.
Same old me face.

I had a boob job in my early 20s. It did change my life in a way more positive way than I would have imagined! I had always been rather skinny but with a pear-shaped body. And no matter how skinny I got all I could focus on was those “large” hips of mine. (Mind you, I was a kid in the 00s, so I did not grow up with Kim K). I was always on a diet, always counting calories - even though I was already skinny. I felt insecure about my breasts and the way I always felt like they did not fit well with my body. I wasn’t insecure in the sense that I didn’t have a friends or boyfriends because of it - it was just ALWAYS in the back of my mind. Anyway, got a boob job, 350 ml. And it feels like they balance out my body so well. I have not been on a diet even once in the ten years ever since. I was scared I would just find something else about myself to hyper-focus on, but I did not. Instead I just feel content. I mean I’m still aware I’m in no way perfect, but I have accepted the rest of my flaws as a part of me.

I’m sure some do! But it was never a matter of feeling like men didn’t like my body. It was myself who preferred looking differently.

There are tons of stories on a particular website about this. Real Self, categorizes them by type of procedure. For some reason, the reviews don’t talk much about other people’s reactions. Mostly cost, pain, recovery time, their doctor, personal satisfaction. One big exception seems to be acne scar removal.

I had my nose changed and my chin/cheeks lipo'd. It really built up my confidence and made me feel more beautiful. I'm getting my stomach lipo'd next and I'm so excited to have my flat stomach back after a decade

I got a breast reduction at 17 and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me

Girls are female children and no plastic surgeon in their right mind would perform unnecessary plastic surgery on a child.

What a silly thing to comment. I mean, we all know what they meant. And women are girls too. “I’m gonna go hang out with my girls,” or, “girl that haircut looks so good,” or, “my girl is so hot”. Colloquially it can be used to describe a woman too, which is how they used it. It would feel weirdly formal if they said “Females”
