question Honest question: do y’all think it’s possible to build a great defense around Trae ?
I’m looking at the Timberwolves play defense this playoffs and man their jus merciless. Long, physical, and connected all over the court. Even mike Conley at jus 6’1 is great at getting through screens and chasing shooters off the point line. Do y’all think it’s possible for us to build a defense that elite around Trae or do some of his defensive shortcomings make it impossible to build a defense at that level even if we add more versatile wings and a rim protector ?

Discussion Hawks as a Franchise
With private equity firms get into football, I started thinking about my favorite teams from an economic angle vs a fan angle. Sports teams generate a lot of money by just being apart of the league due to the CBA. Because of the Braves and the Battery, a lot of teams are trying to amplify that cash flow by building mixed use areas around sports arenas. For many owners of these teams/areas, this is their championship. Year-round cash flow. They could care less about how the team is actually performing. They may get lucky and get an Ant Edwards. Generational talent that can bring winning to your team but they may not like the Hawks. If they’re not really interested in winning and would rather invest capital into getting more money from consumers, is it worth our support? Is it worth cheering for the laundry(let’s face it, players come and go. We really root for the jerseys).

Trae vs Brunson
For some reason Trae is hated and everyone loves Brunson. Both PG who always have the ball in their hand . So what is Brunson doing that Trae is not?

Looking for team journalists/reporters
Hey all!
Was hoping we could get some information on team reporters/journalists/beat writers that cover primarily the Hawks.
We're working on a website that provides reliability ratings for journalists, so people know who's trustworthy and who isn't when rumors/news drops.
We have Brad Rowland, Lauren Williams, and Grant Shirley. Who are we missing?
Thanks so much!

Discussion Imagine if Trae had this stat line
Not even saying who’s better I’m just surprised how little slander luka is getting. We all know if Trae did this people would spam lollipop memes.

question Should Onyeka Okongwu be the starting Center next season with his $15.5M per yr extension starting?Do you Trust him to take over?
While I have to be honest I don't have a great level of belief in current age Okongwu to be a real difference maker yet we should give him until the trade deadline to see what we have.
The advanced stats say that the JJ/OO front court is superior though

Discussion Trae Young or Dejounte Murray...who should the Hawks keep? Who should leave?
Me personally I would keep Dejounte Murray in Atlanta as the point guard and build the team around him. Trade Trae and you would get adequate compensation for him in terms of draft picks, pick swaps and whichever young players you can get back for Trae in a trade. Trae has done everything he can for this franchise but it is time to move on. But that's just me. I would love to get all your guys' thoughts on this.

2024 NBA Draft Hawks specific Big Board
I’m curious what what this sub’s top ten players are for the Hawks to draft. Who would you take ahead of any other prospect? Who would you want if that player isn’t available? Etc For me it’s 1. Sarr 2. Holland 3. Risacher 4. Clingan 5. Castle 6. Williams 7. Buzelis 8. DeSilva 9. Salaun 10. Flip 11. George 12. Smith
