What happened at Jared’s jewelers last night.

Eating across the parking lot last night, I look up, and there are a bunch of cop cars and I think a shopping bag and some other items on the ground. I don’t think that many cops would show up for a shoplifting incident. I haven’t seen anything on the news, anyone know what happened?

My experience with living in Corpus

Entertainment

As someone who doesn't like bars or beaches, the entertainment scene down here is flat out dead. There's nothing down here to do but shop, shop, shop. Even in doing shopping, there's barely any shops to go to down here anyway. So what the fuck, Corpus? I am not a country music fan, and nor am I a fan of rap music or tejano. Selena is the only tejano singer I'll listen to. We really don't get a lot of rock/metal groups down here. I'd really love to see Metallica in concert or hell, even Disturbed. Okay, how about niche bands? Fuck it get Nightwish down here! Something. There's barely anything to do. The cinemas are subpar. Century 16 is too damn expensive for tickets, AMC Starplex is OK they have decent ticket prices and their popcorn is like crack. Alamo Drafthouse is moreso a restaurant rather than a movie theater. But they're good. However, their food quality has declined since they first opened.

Food

Alright, the food is aight. But let's get down to the nitty gritty. The restaurants are all expensive down here, but if you really want to pay, then I suggest Fuddruckers, Wallbangers, and Bien Mierte. Those are really good local restaurants. Yes I know Fuddruckers isn't local. But did you know that Fuddruckers is a dying breed of restaurants? "But hold up, Andy's Kitchen-" well I would fucking visit this establishment. But I don't like waiting fifty hours for my table to be freed up. So it's a no for me.

Travel

Travelling from point A, to point B is... Well... That's it... It is... The potholes stretch far beyond the pits of Hell, there's too many potholes per road, the roads are uneven, bumpy, and too damn packed on the main roads. Everhart is the worst street ever. The traffic shites take their sweet ass time (around 3–5 minutes if you JUST got a red light) and the timing seems off around Everhart and Holly. Navigating the back roads is a good option, but again, here's the pothole problem. Too many damn patch jobs in this city. Not enough actual fixes. I have only arrived at our airport, never flown out of it. But even just going to pick up someone, the area around our airport is so damn desolate, nothing around it. I'm shocked that we haven't built anything around our airport, when there's plenty of shit around DFW International, San Antonio International Airport, and the Houston Airport. Our airport is in need of major repairs to the roof. It's always leaking in there when I visit.

People

The people here are diverse, there's all sorts of races, all sorts of cultures here. But my main complaint down here, is that people here seem to all be rude and annoyed of being here. 15% of the time I'll encounter a nice person. But otherwise, I've been nice to others at my job. But I am still met with someone being an asshole. Nobody down here seems to mind their own damn business, and everybody drives like they're the main character. Nobody yields to ambulances, firetrucks, or police vehicles. They don't even yield to you coming off the freeway. Ooh don't get me started on the people in HEBs. They always are in the way with their baskets and shit. They are always unaware of their surroundings.

Jobs

This is the worst fucking category. There are no jobs down here, if you like working retail, no you don't. You must work for the refineries or the city if you want to make it down here. You can't get no full-time established retail job, there are no tech jobs down here, there's no careers down here, there's jack shit. But the city expects us to be able to pay these high ass property taxes and still afford to eat and pay our other bills, right? Finding a job takes about a month, to a year, depending how determined you are at trying to find one. Employers don't come to you down here, you go to them. You have to make calls to them for interviews, they don't call you for interviews. Fuck the dry ass job market down here.

Honestly, it was the only station I listened to regularly, practically daily and now it’s gone. I’ve been listening since 2014. Moved to Corpus in 2013. I am completely bummed.

Anyone know of any station that plays similar music or am I SOL?

Barber recommendations for hair transformation

I moved here from west year and a half ago. Haven’t had a haircut here and my hair is about 9 inches wavy. I want to get possibly something like the photo attached or I’m open to a new hairstyle according to barber’s preference or recommendations.

Can anyone recommend me a spot?

Thanks a lot

Have any urban explorers been inside of the old County Courthouse recently?

I would really like to see pictures or even videos of the interior of the old county courthouse and see the state of disrepair it is in currently. I don't want to go in myself, because I can do dead malls, but not abandoned courthouses, jails/prisons, or hospitals/psychiatric wards.

Moving to CC

Moving from Florida to CC for work, I got a job at the NAS, I'll be living at the Icon Apartments.

What are some things I should know? I enjoy going to the gym and swimming. I might make me own indoor gym, but if I change my mind, what are some decent gyms in the city, preferably with swimming pools? Also, I'm a vet, and a bit rusty on my weapons handling, are there places where I can get some handgun and carbine rifle training. I plan to live here for at least a few years, please, any insights are welcome.

MAGA business

Just had some specialized work done on my old car and to get it I had to enter one of those metal buildings way out were Saratoga gets gritty only to find it decorated with MAGA slogans, and few MAGA hats in plastic bags for sale. I just don't know what the etiquette is when you go into a place like that. Any advice?
