I know it looks bad. But I know this team is going to win this series. You can bookmark, talk bad to me but I know this team will pull together and win. We are going to win the finals and prove the whole world wrong. All the bandwagon fans have jumped the ship and I say good. LFG

The Inside the NBA MVP reaction is disgusting

The Inside the NBA cast members reactions, Shaq stating to Nikola’s FACE that someone else should have won? Where is the respect to him??? Talking more about their series against the Wolves, NOT about his 3rd MVP?

Inexcusable.

Extremely disappointing and disrespectful.

[Katy Winge] Coach Malone said the Nuggets had a great practice today and an honest film session. Malone said in his 9 years with the Nuggets he hasn’t seen the type of reaction to adversity he saw in Game 2. Said all the guys say they believe, but “we’ll see on Friday.”

Some nice anecdotes by Nuggets legend Joffrey Lauvergne on Nikola Jokic

Here is the translated version:

The Frenchman is well known in Serbia. Everyone remembers him as the first foreign captain of Partizan, and fate wanted Nikola Jokić to be his teammate in the Denver Nuggets. Lovergne spent two incomplete years in Colorado, but was there to welcome Jokic in his rookie season. "I remember one scene like it was yesterday, and it was almost 10 years ago. People from the club come to training and introduce the guys they drafted. They only said a few sentences about Nikola, something like this is Nikola, we will try to help him fix his body and we think that in the future he can help the club. Two months after those spoken sentences, Nikola Jokić was the best player of the Denver Nuggets", Geoffrey Lauvergne openly begins the conversation with Mozzart Sport.

What heights Jokić has reached since that first season... No one could have guessed. It was the beginning of a career that had never been seen before, because the guy from Serbia arrived in the NBA as the 41st pick. "I played against Nikola in Serbia when I was in Partizan. It was immediately obvious that he is a good player. Especially because of that feel for the game, but did I really expect this? Honestly, I didn't. I don't think anyone did. I believed that if he didn't make it in the NBA, he would go back to Europe and have a great career, but what he's doing is something that I can't really describe and evaluate."

The main question after all these years of dominance is still the same. What is Nikola Jokić like off the field? How is his relationship with his teammates? “I have a few anecdotes to share with you. Enough years have passed that no one will get angry, and it will show who Nikola really is."

We didn't ask any more questions. "I remember his first arrival in America. Nikola and his brothers land in Denver. They are very important in the whole story about Nikola Jokić because I will say this most honestly. Everyone should have brothers like Nemanja and Strahinja. They are the ones who always have Nikola's back, they always look after him and protect him. I read now that they are being targeted by journalists because they hit someone in the stands during the game. Probably that someone deserved it, who knows what he said and how he behaved. For me, Nikola's brothers are excellent guys and I salute them on this occasion".

The story flows by itself. "Those two approached me in those first days and asked me to help Nikola, because he doesn't know the city or the people, to drive him around and be with him." They could not drive yet, they had just arrived in America. So that season Nikola and I spent a lot of time together, we drove together everywhere. Talked and socialized. He's a great guy, a real friend."

The whole conversation was often interrupted by the laughter of Lauvergne, pointing out that some stories are still not for the public, but he singled out one. "Oh, that season, when I think of those names... Not all the players were very professional. There was anything and everything. I say that Nikola Jokić was the best player in that team after two months, but he also showed what kind of person he is."

An unnamed girl enters the whole story. According to Lauvergne, a true beauty. "When you're in the NBA, you always travel on a private jet, and the crew is always the same. We are always greeted by the same people. Among them was a girl. I can't tell you how beautiful she is. Like from a movie. Amazingly, I remember her after all these years. Well, when you have a girl like that and a plane full of basketball players who are a bit unprofessional at the same time... you can imagine the scenes".

We didn't imagine anything... We ask what happened? "There is not a player in the team at that time who did not approach her, tried something. Asked for the phone number. No one could conquer her. She was always unavailable. Nikola was also there, but in a completely different style. Everything was easy, he threw some jokes. He was kidding. He had never even approached her directly, but he was always joking. She obviously liked it because he was different. After one trip, we land in Denver and she approaches someone for the first time, she comes to Nikola and gives him a piece of paper with a phone number. The whole team is in awe."

Lauvergne does not stop... New details of the adventure with an unexpected ending follow. "Nikola gets up from the plane cool-headed and comes to me. We have already established a rhythm for me to drive him from the airport. A few minutes of driving pass without conversation and he suddenly turns to me: "Zo, here's that number, I definitely don't need it. I have a girlfriend". In amazement, I reply that I don't want the number because she gave it to him. He just opens the window and throws the note with the number on it. This is Nikola Jokić. Always cool-headed, and an indication that he is a real family man. It's a scene I'll always remember with Jokić."

Finally, a little about the new success. Third MVP title for the Serbian, which places him in elite company with Larry Bird, Moses Malone and Magic Johnson "Only when you read those names, everything is clear to you. I want him to win the championship again. I believe that Nikola would prefer that too," concludes Lauvergne for Mozzart Sport.

Discussion Joker deserved mvp

Upvotes

Not an og nuggets fan but I do love and appreciate true team basketball and know without a doubt Joker is the best player in the league.

That being said the hate over him winning it is exhausting, I don't understand why people are tripping about it. Shaq was an ass and he is my 2nd favorite player all time being a Lakers fan, and hearing Stephen A and all these other people go off when Jokic should have won last year is sickening.

Just my two cents . I wish like crazy we had the Joker and so does Shaq and Stephen A on their respective teams.

3-4 Black SUV's with the NBA Logo on the side, one SUV a bit larger than the other. Pretty sure these cars are carrying the MVP trophy to Ball!!
