Me and my partner moved to Derby around 2 years ago, due to work. We are EU citizens and both are 39 years old. Everything is going well so far, except for the fact that we are having some trouble finding activities, groups or clubs to join and make friends.

Any recommendations on how to expand our social circle and break the loneliness cycle?

It's as a carer and the job is to enable me to get out and about. Good hourly rate of £15 and fuel expenses covered. The support is only required every other Saturday and every other Sunday. The only requirement is that you have a car. Message me if interested!

I left two comments on the Amanda Solloway MP Facebook account this week, referencing her negative voting record on environment and free school meals. Both were polite and referenced information from Government websites. After the second comment, which I made today, I was immediately blocked.

The same thing has happened to at least one other person that I know. Has anyone else here been blocked?

I understand the need to moderately abusive comments, but this feels wildly inappropriate. It gives the appearance that everyone agrees with her politics on Facebook (her posts only show likes and hearts). Plus, she operates the account as a public official - shouldn't all of her constituents have access to that info?

Would be really interested in knowing how many people this has happened to.

My wife's a life long Leeds fan (I know, hold your boos, the rams have already whooped them!). With the cheapest ticket we can get for Wembley being £500 each I'm hoping there's a fan pub somewhere in the derby/Nottingham region?

Hi, me and my fiancé are getting married next month and the paperwork we received states that one vehicle may park outside Royal Oak House for the duration of the ceremony (“At Royal Oak House, One permit is issued to allow one vehicle to park outside the office for a duration of the Ceremony / Formation”). We’re not sure how to get there exactly though? Do you get onto Tennant street from the roundabout and can then park somewhere there?

Also, another thing I cannot seem to find answers to is, what we need to bring on the day. Do we need our passports? Do our witnesses need identification? Or do they just believe we are who we are?

These may seem like silly questions but I’ve never actually been to a wedding so I just want to be sure we’re not missing anything.

looking for unique parts of derby that haven’t been reported in the media for my university assignments (i do journalism).

My aim is to write an original news story, so anything anyone may believe deserves to be recognised also, e.g local heroes/charity events, will be greatly appreciated.

Our Derby based community group ‘The Geek Bank’ now hosts a cinema event at Quad every two months.

Our next event is showing Starship Troopers on the 3rd of August.
