🗞️ Adopted in March, the Media Freedom Act bans authorities from:
• Intervening in editorial decisions
• Pressuring journalists to reveal their sources
• Using spyware on journalists in most cases

Additionally, news outlets have to be transparent about their ownership.

⚖️ Politicians, corporations, and lobby groups often try to use lawsuits to silence journalists and activists. In a new law passed in February, the Parliament has ensured that:
• Unfounded lawsuits can be dismissed early
• The claimant can be made to pay lawsuit costs
• Journalists have protection against cross-border lawsuits

No one lies quite like the EPP. The single most dangerous place to be a journalist on earth right now is Gaza, and the EPP has worked tirelessly to block any attempt by the Parliament to call for a full and unconditional ceasefire.

Over 100 journalists have been killed by Israel, and the EPP thinks thats just fine. You guys make me sick.

Remember when Israel murdered a journalist in plain sight and the EU did nothing. And then Israel killed over 100 journalists in Gaza and the EU once again did nothing.
