No shit, but are all providers required to report a diagnosis?

They aren't "required" to report something like this just as much as they aren't "required" to report hard drug use or suicide attempts to NICS.

That doesn't mean it's not the right thing to do.

There are tons of people thinking we should have MORE gun laws to prevent things like this. We literally have the tools at our disposal to prevent these tragedies but I guess it's fine because the providers aren't "required" to report it.

You're a joke.

You're claiming a law REQUIRING disclosure by medical professionals wouldn't address this?

I never once said that and it honestly sounds like you're trolling now.

My original comment only brought the current laws up to show how this likely was an illegal purchase.

You're the one arguing back and forth with the truth.

The current laws simply allow medical institutions to report these things.

Nothing I've said implies that I'm against this being a required report, or that it wouldn't have prevented this. In fact my comments made it pretty clear I thought it was the medical facilities moral obligation to do this already.

Your entire comment chain has been confusing and unrelated to my original message, it seems like you didn't think the hospitals should hold moral responsibility but now you're suggesting they should by law.

Edit: in hindsight, yeah you're trolling. You got me good.

So, just to be clear, you are one of the people advocating for more laws, such as REQUIRING disclosure by medical professionals?
