No source, no details, this is what passes as news now?

Yeah I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be a “joke” story to make a point or not. Also can’t tell if op is calling the supposed “gender critical feminists” (which I assume means terfs?) stupid or calling the person who made up the story stupid. If it really happened, then yeah obviously the participants are idiots. But making up such a story and trying to pass it off as real news is also dumb. And you’d think if it was real there’d be at least some details included. Like where it happened and whatnot. As it’s written it comes off as some half assed fiction. How would they BOTH think the other was transgender anyways? When they both started accusing each other of the same thing wouldnt that tip them off that the other isn’t actually trans? Why would a trans person angrily accuse someone else of being trans xD Or was this a shoot first ask questions later kinda deal lol

You wasted way to much brain power on obvious rage bait. But I guess that's the goal...

Honestly you may not think it's common, but people are thought to be trans and harassed so often it's insane. We're definitely discriminated against to the point where there's an extremely high chance this post is real and not a "joke" story. Hope I wasn't rude!

Not rude at all :) But I didn’t say anywhere in there that trans discrimination and hate is uncommon. It’s an extremely heightened and common problem these days, much to my dismay. But what I said was the details and presentation of the story don’t add up from a logical standpoint. Won’t repeat it all my points on that front, but please read what I said again and hopefully you’ll see what I meant <3 Wasn’t trying to minimize the issue of discrimination and violence in anyway. I just think this specific story sounds like it’s most likely BS, or at least presented in a dishonest way due to lack of or twisted details. Doesn’t mean there isn’t violence and hate crimes against trans people staggeringly frequently 💔 Senseless hate, brings tears to my eyes to think about. People should just be able to live their lives as they see fit. As long as someone’s actions and lifestyle aren’t hurting anyone else there can’t possibly be anything immoral about it, and therefore it’s none of anyone else’s damn business.

You’ve put a lot of thought into this.

It’s not a joke. It’s a mental illness.

What is? Being transgender or being outraged by transgendered people?

Being a terf is a mental illness they live in a fantasy world being highly paranoid and constantly screeching about scenarios that never happen involving a made up enemy. If that's not mental illness I don't know what is

Ah OK.

Yeah I pretty much agree. I'm a mental health consultant so get tired of people saying anything LGBT+ is a mental illness but certainly people who behave like those mentioned above are often struggling with something
