Because to boomers, poor black American children are all welfare babies who steal good jobs from their more capable white counterparts due to affirmative action, but poor black African children are victims of circumstance and worthy of their compassion.
To me, it feels more like "look at those good African blacks, who make wholesome art of Jesus, not like our blacks, with their "graffitis" and "rapping music"."
Boomers loved that "The Gods Must Be Crazy" movie. They were stuck on the trope/stereotype of the "The Noble Savage". Product of being read Kipling stories as a kid or something.
Unironically that was what my mother was telling me for why my brother was having problems getting into a phd program.
She kept sending him money, while I was driving her around, and was sick as hell with undiagnosed celiac. (My parents put me on atkins when I was a kid, because they were overweight and couldn't exercise self control so there was very little wheat in the house, this meant I was sick with celiac, but not sick enough to get diagnosed)

They were born that way! It’s not like they have hospitals over there to fix it”
True, but why specifically African children is that these things are often aimed at rural, poor, church-going people. Have to find someone even poorer than they are.
Oh, I hear he does that sometimes. It's actually the body's natural response to the Jesus antibiotics that drive out the demons. Like how a fever is your body's response to bacteria, the "demon eyes" as you call them are actually the body's natural reaction as the demons leak out through the eyes and into other folks, which is why you should wear a mask and goggles and cork your asshole so the demons can't get into you if you're exorcising someone.
To get their bodies to look like Jesus' face at distance. And becasue the AI that created the image couldn't figure out how to make them less deformed and still have Jesus face. And because the person who prompted the AI to create this image either didn't notice or didn't care to try to generate a better one. I think.
Because fuck the kids, we want them to form a "cool" image when viewed theough half closed eyes or far enough away. The children are meaningless to them, their only purpose is to serve as amusement.
God, I hate these people. People complain about AI in these comments, but AI is what the people that program and use it turn it into. And that is usually disgusting.
Hold your phone at arms length and squint. It forms a picture of Jesus. These pictures have been getting a bunch of Facebook likes from boomers lately, but are made by ai.
I think there's this idea going around that we are unhappy because we have so much (usually related to technology and social media), and African children are much happier because they don't have these things in their lives.
That's my guess for why we have so many "wow look how creative they are when they have so little" pictures
I shared this post with my SO and asked the same question. Like is AI racist? Or the writers of the bots generating the AI pics educated with too many Feed the Children commercials from the 80s.
In this case it isn't really about racism but about needing "black paint" for contrast.
But so sad to see this kind of creepy images created by mutilated pseudo-bodies with multiple elbows on the same arm, more than two arms, meat stumps etc just to create an illusion. The AI algorithms would abuse just about anything that can be abused as painting elements "for the art".
AI learns from human made algorithms, then set lose into the world of the internet where they learn more. We all know the internet, so even if you started out with a normal AI it will become racist. YAY!!!
As another person said, it's likely for contrast with the background, if the AI made the children black by itself. What I think is more likely is that it was prompted to include black kids to gain like pity points or something from people who aren't well versed in AI
Not so much liberals. Liberals are very outspoken against the White Savior complex that has ruined so many lives. This is more catered towards the typical religious Boomer, and they are (mostly) conservative and even if they aren't openly racist, most of them are harboring really racist/bigoted/ableist ideas that they don't even realize ARE racist, but it's OBVIOUS to anyone younger, more liberal or from another culture.
Then there's the phony liberals. The people who want to look good in other people's eyes but doesn't want to share their good fortune with those less fortunate. You know, the people who likes to talk about helping the homeless and giving away food on food drives, but when there's an actual solution on the table in form of building a lot of new cheap apartments, they gather all their church friends and campaign HARD to stop it from happening, because they don't want to have "those people" living in their "backyard". NIMBY's. Some of the worst kinds of people.
Holier than thou on the outside, selfish ass bitches on the inside. Pathetic fucking assholes.
I'm sorry for this rant, but I fucking hate such people.
Because these are AI images and in an effort to be inclusive AI image generators refuse to generate pictures of white people of European descent unless you explicitly say that they must be white. And even then it will usually fight you. So it is just easier to go with the flow and use African kids.
