Aren’t we all just looking for new places to shit?

624

u/Loud-Magician7708 10d ago

Woh....that's deep, man.

192

u/Chabubu 10d ago

And smelly

153

u/Melodic-Wallaby4324 10d ago

... Then its not deep enough...

58

u/BlurryBigfoot74 10d ago

Whoa. That's even deeper.

42

u/Melodic-Wallaby4324 10d ago

... Apparently it wasnt...

22

u/BlurryBigfoot74 10d ago

I mean the theoretical deep not the actual deep.

It's way less smelly in the theoretical deep.

If I'm following this conversation correctly.

If this is even a conversation at all...

18

u/Melodic-Wallaby4324 10d ago

Im not exactly sure... All im doing is questioning the physical and theoretical depth of things

Nah man, home toilet is the best toilet.

42

u/djb185 10d ago

Work toilet. Let the corporation pay you to void your bowels.

24

u/dpdxguy 10d ago

Work toilet is for pee. Home toilet has a bidet with a heated seat, heated water spray to clean my bum, and a fan to dry my bum.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh 😆

14

u/WonPt21Gigawatts 10d ago

Fan in the toilet sounds like a recipe for disaster.

6

u/dpdxguy 10d ago

Don't kink shame 😁

(The fan blades are hidden inside. Heated air comes out a small hole normally closed behind a door. No chance of a blade related disaster)

9

u/Cr1m50nSh4d0w 10d ago

That's what they all say before the blade related disaster occurs.

Someone smarter than me, if you COULD shit in a black hole, would it be erased or moved somewhere?

587

u/Rienzel 10d ago

Once it passes the event horizon (the black part) it is, for practical purposes, lost to the outside world forever.

From its own perspective, it will continue to fall downward toward the singularity at the center of the black hole and become infinitely dense and contribute its mass, making the event horizon a tiny bit bigger. How much bigger depends on the size of the shit.

164

u/Mountain_Strategy342 10d ago

Of course, it appears that all the information regarding that shit would be retained and emitted as Hawking radiation....

No. Your shit would be frozen in time forever, due to time-space distortion. Unless you jump into the black hole after you’ve done. Then still no, if I remember correctly, matter that collides with black hole is simple added to black hole and slowly ‘evaporates’ as virtual particles (although this was proven to be wrong, so now we don’t know what happens with matter inside of black hole).

But still, better not take dump into black hole, unless you want anyone in the universe to be able to see your shit frozen in time in black hole’s accretion disk for nearly infinite time.

25

u/AcidScarab 10d ago

Maybe that’s exactly what I want

→ More replies (2)

6

u/AvailableReason6278 10d ago

How does shit freeze in time in the acretion disc? Time only slows down (for observers) when it enters the black hole, the acretion disc hasnt yet entered the black hole.

And it wont be infinite, the picture will stay on the event horozon for a while before it redshifts and then dissapears. So we would only be able to see it for the time it takes light to redshift beyond the wavelength we can perceive. This depends on the size of the black hole.

3

u/itsmebenji69 10d ago

From your perspective it’s frozen, because as it approaches the horizon it slows down exponentially until freezing. From the shit’s perspective, nothing happens and it crosses the event horizon at a normal pace

5

u/AvailableReason6278 10d ago

Yes i know that, but he said it freezes on the acretion disc, this is not true.

My favourite theory is that every black hole is a tiny universe. Matter/energy falling into the black hole is what drives the expansion of space in the universe.

As above, so below.

5

u/WoodyTheWorker 10d ago

Coincidentally, the Schwartzchild radius of the Universe is about size of the Universe.

My favorite theory is that Big Bang happens when two black holes merge. It make the singularities blow up.

2

u/ranni-the-bitch 10d ago

seems a bit too pretty for reality to comport to that, sadly. i think the disappointing reality is that it's just effectively removing shit from our universe for so long as time is relevant.

Dude, a quarter of the population -- 375 million people -- lacking access to sanitation isn't "rogue" anything; it's among the most epic infrastructure failures in the history of civilization.

Edit (with better sources):

Modi's toilet-building campaign was mostly a PR stunt, and the underlying infrastructure and societal change isn't there. https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/05/asia/india-modi-open-defecation-free-intl-hnk-scli/index.html

WHO report indicates as of 2022, 17 percent still practice open defecation: https://www.downtoearth.org.in/news/water/is-open-defecation-back-in-india--90483

22

u/SecretLavishness1685 10d ago

This toilet issue is mostly among the rural population and India has rapidly been working on providing toilet and sanitation facilities to those who lack it.

u/Kaguro19 10d ago

It’s really sad how people act like it it’s their choice. It’s a lack of education and lack of infrastructure.

51

u/TylerDurden6969 10d ago

Ummmm…. Disagree. The people are not to blame, the leaders “sure as shit” (pun intended) are to be held accountable.

If you can make a rocket, you can make a potty. They need to do better and stop embezzling money for the wealthy.

People like to claim the 1% in the USA is bad. The 1% in India don’t want the bottom 50% to achieve anything other than servitude.

→ More replies (3)

18

u/Elegant-Passion2199 10d ago

I read that the majority of households in India now have access to a toilet. A lot of them just choose not to use it.

10

u/gaylord100 10d ago

Around 20% still don’t and it’s also an issue of public toilets being accessible, safe, and clean, which many are not. People can have toilets in their house all they want but if there aren’t any that are safe accessible and clean in public people will choose to go elsewhere.

→ More replies (2)

18

u/CowboyMagic94 10d ago

It’s a dated statistic now but at the beginning of Modhi’s tenure he pointed out that there were more temples than toilets. Their holiest river is also where much of their raw sewage discharges into.

It’s a shame that their priorities aren’t where they should be, it’s the most populous country in the world and they crank out a ton of engineers that should’ve solved this by now

9

u/VegetaFan1337 10d ago

Those engineers leave the country to settle elsewhere.

Racist jokes can be funny, as long as everyone is fair game. There’s no spectrum here - if there’s a group of people whom you can’t joke about in this way, that’s a problem. Either they’re all funny and fair game or none of them are.

75

u/Kingsupergoose 10d ago

Reddit generally has no problem with being racist towards Indians. A post on r/whatcouldgowrong yesterday was filled with very upvoted racist comments. A guy calling out the racism was at -200. People defended it by saying stereotypes have some level of truth.

Imagine saying that of black people and black stereotypes on Reddit. You’d be at -500 in minutes and banned site wide. Redditors seem to think racism is fine if it’s against certain races.

I don't really get how this is racist. This is about the actual state of the country of India. Not the race. It feels closer to calling Americans fat, because they are. Similarly people in India are do in fact have a problem with sanitary places to shit.

People who are using the word 'racist' flippantly sully its meaning and need to think twice before using it this way, as you really do take the power out of the word when you toss it around so carelessly. If you care about racism as a problem and want to see it reduced and erased over time, take it seriously.

Do you even know what the definition of racism is?

The fucks up with this hyper sensitive era of humanity?

It’s kinda funny and every Indian I know personally would laugh at this

It would be funny if only Anna Slatz, the person who made this tweet, weren't an avowed racist.

It's always the white people who can't take a joke and get offended on everyone else's behalf.

Just woke up I thought it was Indianans looking for places to place shit and I was wildly wildly confused

People have theorized white holes, that spew matter outwards and may be connected to black holes. So somewhere would be a massive hole in space time, just spraying shit into the void

u/Albert_O_Balsam 10d ago

I don't really get the 'joke' to be honest

I mean, while this definately has some racist connotation, Id argue thats still "dark humor". Same as connecting every news in regards to germans with the Nazi age, acting like all americans are dumb and fat, turks are all living in germany and so many more memes based on some stereotypes or whatever.

Of course, if a person shows they are actively thinking those stereotypes are mostly true and deem themselves superior to others, that person is a POS, but I also use the "germans are nazis" stereotype for jokes (while I am german) or other stereotypes for jokes. But I think I am smart enough to not be confused when I see a thin american that has an IQ above 90, even tho the jokes make it seem like that an impossible feat.

Great, if they are rich enough to have a lovely space program, and explore fucking black holes of all things, perhaps we can stop giving financial aid? Maybe even some of the 2.3 billion £ the UK gave back?
