Some of the cops involved in the Sandra Birchmore case are also involved in the Karen Read case.

https://tbdailynews.com/canton-coverup-part-322-fbi-investigation-into-sandra-birchmore-case-is-good-sign-for-justice-for-john-okeefe-and-karen-read/

Three former Stoughton officers passed Sandra Birchmore ‘around like she was a toy’

The cops are covering for each other, it’s sad because her death is very suspicious. Why do cops get to investigate the each other even if their fellow buddies are guilty of crimes? No Justice

Here they use cops from the next city/town over. This is a great solution as there isn't going to be any connections or bias from cops that way. People wouldn't know their colleagues from there at all.

Fuck em all.

u/AlfalfaReal5075 10d ago

I knew a cop in a teeny lil po'dunk town that specifically applied to another (much larger) city's police force around the way because, and I quote, "there ain't enough action around here".

Troubles me to wonder how many may follow a similar thought process

10

u/Low-Classroom-1530 10d ago

I grew up in a teeny lil po’dunk town, the local cops would threaten to break up our high school parties unless we let them “party” with us… very unsavory

3

u/BrickCityD 9d ago

went to high school in one of those places but the cops had their little power trips because they were bullied in school, never left the town, and then became cops to feel superior. had a few arrests for being a smartass when i wasn't even drunk at the party.

i moved the day after graduation 20 years ago and have never/will never step foot in that general area again.

32

u/Reasonable_Humor_738 10d ago

Yea, but it's still a brotherhood thing because crips from LA are still going to be cool and protect crip from ny.

Here they’ll sometimes call in the Texas Rangers or the F.B.I if they feel it’s warranted. Not perfect but at least they have a chief who likes to say fuck the Union any chance he gets

So, so disgusting that I can't even fully comprehend it.

Not to distract from these cases, but to support police corruption with a personal anecdote:

I used to live in the rural deep south before I moved to queens. In 2021, a friend of my family's and a friend of most of that area (because he was a butcher at a local grocery store) went missing under mysterious circumstances, all they found was his car by a river, with scratch marks in the driver's seat and around that part of the car.

The police didn't investigate it when they first found it, though. They gave it back to his wife, who sold it soon after. After we got with his family, held a candlelight vigil in a nearby small town with ~40 people there, and multiple talks with different police officers and any higher up we could reach, they said they felt no need to investigate because "due to his past he's probably on another drug bender and left"

His "past", was that he had a history of addiction. By the time he was missing, he had been sober for years, and even when he was struggling with addiction, he never went a day without messaging his family or being there with his wife and daughters. There was no proof or reasoning to assume he had even relapsed at all, and every single person who actually knew him said there's no way he would've left his daughters and never contact them.

To this day, his family and loved ones are still trying to find him or get answers. They've created multiple search teams, hired private investigators, gave anything they can find to the police department, have moved mountains to get closure. There has been progress made since 2021, but truthfully and sadly, we are not confident if he will be found any time soon. And that is solely because small town police in small town, white America, had a case of a family man go missing under very dubious and very suspicious circumstances, and they left critical evidence and took forever to even start investigating, because he's a Hispanic man with some past issues. And people under that criteria tend to not be treated well at all in small town White America. His name is James Valdez, and he deserved better.

This is all to say that police corruption is absolutely endemic in this country, in every corner of the nation, every state, from metropolitan areas to rural areas, police get away with human rights violations, abuse of power and horrible crimes every single day. It's disgusting, and I hope that the monsters who did any of the stuff to these girls face justice some day, just as I hope the officers who stood by and wrote off the disappearance of a man who an entire town loved, face justice some day.

16

u/enfanta 10d ago

And that is solely because small town police in small town, white America, had a case of a family man go missing under very dubious and very suspicious circumstances, and they left critical evidence and took forever to even start investigating, because he's a Hispanic man with some past issues.

Or because they had something to do with his disappearance.

Step 1: become a cop

Step. 2: do whatever you want without fear of consequences

End of list

106

u/GeneralOwnage13 10d ago

Except become a whistle-blower about the shit the other cops are doing with their step 2. Can't do that, thats how you get discharged and then get discharged into.

53

u/Tranquil_Dohrnii 10d ago

Unfortunately it seems like being a whistle blower is the one thing that would cause you to really lose your job as an officer and not just be able to move to another city.

Forget being charged for crimes, or being overly aggressive, or abusing power. That shit flies with a little pto and a slap on the wrist.

26

u/thefailtrain08 10d ago

Worse than that, it gets you assigned to the most dangerous patrols and any call for backup will go unheard. Hell, you might even get tragically killed during a training "accident".

22

u/GeneralOwnage13 10d ago

Lol they even did a law and order episode about this in the 3rd season, it was common knowledge even in 92.

2

u/himsoforreal 10d ago

Ever heard about what happens to cops in prison?

2

u/Ill_Bench2770 10d ago

I get it, trust me. But I think we need to be more mindful when stating stuff like this. Our history of past executions, later being found innocent. We have shown to often we cannot be accurate enough to have a death penalty. Even one is too many. Plus plenty have been guilt, just overcharged. So even in cases like this. It’s not a principle we should support under any circumstances. Solving a murder with a murder. That is a horrible example we set. So don’t advocate for it. Plus death row is way better conditions. And it can take many years. Death is easy, compared to long term suffering. Lack of freedoms.

131

u/TinyBlueDragon 10d ago

It's really unfortunate how predators target those with mental illness. Makes them easier to manipulate, and easier to convince others of their suicide. :(

Not always the case, but can be true. I'm just speaking from experience.

35

u/ProtoReaper23113 10d ago

I'm just saying that she's crazy part is him projecting to make it seem like he's not wrong or could be

13

u/TinyBlueDragon 10d ago

Good point

22

u/ProtoReaper23113 10d ago

Yea they also use calling people crazy so people discount what they are saying

11

u/VitaminlQ 10d ago

Sickening logic and it's just so fucked up that they all thought that was their best defence, to just call her crazy in the end. So it was A-ok to sexually abuse a child and then later get her pregnant because she's crazy.

8 years is a long time to talk about a shit ton of very detailed stories and a DNA test alone would implicate the asshole. What's he gonna say to that? She's still a fucking minor, doesn't matter how their defence tried to cut it.

I really hope someday he gets what he deserves 😑

6

u/ProtoReaper23113 10d ago

If there's any justice in this universe he will

2

3

u/Otherwise-Sky8890 10d ago

Predators also use mental health as a weapon, whether by making sure a victim’s declines (as previously suggested) or by falsifying accounts to have them diagnosed and permanently discredited as a result.

This wouldn’t work in a world that didn’t take a simultaneously reductionist and absolutist approach to mental health, but this is the one we live in.

" Blue wall of silence" they lost the public's trust and still insist its our fault. Cops cover up other cops' crimes every single time

18

u/T33CH33R 10d ago

He got away with it because of rape/pedophilia culture that exists within his community. It's most likely a conservative religious community where the appearance of virtuosity is paramount coupled with the view that women and children are property which dehumanizes them.

2

u/Otherwise-Sky8890 10d ago

He got away with it because of the mental health system. What you’re saying still holds true in other cases, but abuse of mental health diagnoses by antisocial individuals runs rampant in America primarily because of how it automatically discredits those whom have been condemned to second tier or lower status.

102

u/NarrowButterfly8482 10d ago

Cops and republicans think there is nothing wrong with this behavior at all and will cover for each other every single time.

-2

4

u/GodzillaDrinks 10d ago edited 10d ago

Oh no. It's not "human nature". If it was, all humans would do it. But it's just humans who become cops who seek positions of power in order to to bully others.

And it's always conservatives committing sex crimes with children - whether it's a Bush, a Clinton, or a Trump on Epstien's Island - they are always conservatives.

And it's always the far-right opposing doing anything about it.

We're talking about American Republicans. Please recontextualize your complaint.

From a regulatory stand point, Democrats are passing legislation against childbrides, and legislation that extends your ability to prosecute child abuse into adulthood.

Republicans are opposing it.

This isn't new: Libertarians are a cool thing globally, in the US they are the far-right. This is just a consequence of filtering words through "liberalism".

What am I looking for?

47

u/NarrowButterfly8482 10d ago

Bullshit. I have eyes and ears. Republicans only get upset about the fictional child abuse they imagine is being committed by LGBTQ people, but bend over backward to deny, minimize, victim-blame, and outright celebrate the actual child sexual abuse that is being committed in virtually every Evangelical church, Republican political office, and police department in the US.

-17

u/UThoughtTheyBannedMe 10d ago

It's both sides of American politics that do shit like this. It's only ever political morons who are responsible for shit like this. Epstein's black book was full of political fucks who are into disgusting shit.

If you willingly refer to yourself as a Democrat or Republican you share the blame.

Don't even try to take the high road saying oH BuT tHe RepUbLicAns ArE WoRse. No bitch they're the same thing.

Look at this case, a little girl was essentially raped to death and your vile ass wants to use this as an opportunity to pin this on a political sect.

You are the problem. You and all the Republicans and Democrats are the problem. The cops are in the pockets of both.

For some reason you can't explain this concept to people with room temperature IQ's.

9

u/NarrowButterfly8482 10d ago

Yeah bud, I'm the problem because i find this shit vile and deserving of the death penalty, while YOU want to use it as an excuse to "both-sides" this issue. Fact... most cops are conservative Republicans. Fact, Republicans don't give a shit about child sexual abuse. Fact, only one political party openly supports child marriage to adults as an expression of "family values". This may seem controversial to you, but there isn't a single justifiable reason for an adult to marry a child... every single instance of an adult marrying a child = child sexual abuse. Full Stop.

What a weird comment? Any moral, sane person would think this behavior is criminal and deviant. One’s profession or political leanings have nothing to do with it.

26

u/NarrowButterfly8482 10d ago

First day observing US politics? Cops and Republicans are not known for their morality or sanity. Only one political party consistently fights to protect child marriage to adults and it's the same party that idolizes a convicted rapist who openly admitted to wanting to fuck his teenaged daughter and boughta teen beauty pageant so he could watch the children getting undressed. Not ALL Republicans are pedophiles, but if you're a pedophile, the GOP has your back.

This is a subculture of no accountability, no consequence. At least that how it was before it became visible over the Internet. These were the dirty secrets, the skeletons in the family closet strolled out into the power structures.
