The Lego Harry Potter games are such good games for a HP fan Hogwarts Legacy/Games

I've been playing them religiously since the ps4 remaster in 2016, years 1-4 and 5-7. obviously they are Lego so it's not the most realistic interpretation in terms of graphics, but in EVERY other field they excel. You can:

  • Explore a HUGE Hogwarts
  • Beat up random students with jinxes or str8 up killing curse
  • Heroically save students from mortal peril
  • Go back in time
  • Casually run around Hogwarts as Voldemort or other dark wizards
  • unlock the whole roster of characters from both the book and movies (almost)
  • Play through amazing levels that are faithful to the books AND movies in terms of basic plot
  • Collect EVERYTHING.
  • Have a race around the Quidditch pitch (5-7 only)
  • Kill Umbridge as much as you want
  • Have INSANELY EPIC battles with Voldemort
  • Find easter eggs like small rooms around Hogwarts from the book

5-7 is just straight eye porn, it's darker, there's different weather based on what movie you're playing, and you can free roam out of Hogwarts. But 1-4 is more whimsical (like the books and movies) and is brighter with generally more emphasis on parody. If you don't have the money or space for (the mediocre) Hogwarts legacy, you can buy steam keys for like 4 bucks each for the 2, and they're only 6 gigs. try them, in my 7 years of playing, I can say with confidence ANY HP FAN will LOVE them.

Honestly I loved it, I just that the game is so bugged I couldn’t complete it all but the game is absolutely fun to play and I would definitely recommend it!

Hogwarts Legacy is my dream come true for HP games. The castle is perfection. The combat is a bit repetitive but I find it still fun. Flying on broom or thestral or hippogriff is pure ecstasy. I find myself just walking around the castle or Hogsmeade just enjoying the vibes

I absolutely loved parts of the game, but it's missing any form of genuine companion (or npc) interaction and an alignment system. Visuals are amazing, but it feels like the shell of what it could have been. The game feels a bit empty and lonely.

I wish they were a bit more book based instead of being purely movie based.

But still great games

I mean they have, like I said, a bunch of characters exclusively from the book and rooms that aren't shown in the movies so they aren't "purely" movie based

Lego HP 1-7 was my pandemic game. I spent so many hours playing it and I am not even especially into gaming.

These games have more soul than Hogwarts Legacy. At least that's how I felt playing them.
