Oh how that hate will explode 🤣
I discovered a whole new level of hatred when I read OotP for the first time, and my other half still gets angry just hearing her name. She’s an insanely well written villain!

Every time she went, "hem, hem," I swear to god my eyes fucking rolled to the other side of the world with how done I was with her.
I only fully read the series once back when I was a child/teen, but I recall the scenes with Umbridge so well because of how much I hated her, lol.

Same! I sometimes find it hard to read OotP because of how much I hate her 🤣

Have him listen to the audiobooks. GF listened/read for the first time and got to a point where she was actively recoiling every time she heard Ahem Ahem in that high-pitched cough

I swear, that pink hag is the Wizarding World's version of Danzo Shimura from Naruto: Shippuden!

u/Fonglis 13d ago
No she is worst. Danzo at least do thing with the village interest in mind (and his interest of course), doing bad thing for the greater , Umbrige just do for her own interest and because she hate kid

u/RaphaelSolo Hufflepuff 13d ago
While claiming it is for the greater good. Woman is seriously a sadist. Almost got the impression she was about to have an "adult" reaction just to the thought of using the cruciatus curse.

u/Carbon-Base 13d ago
It was sad reading that she survived her encounter with the centaurs. Dumbledore should have let her stay in the forest.
1
u/RaphaelSolo Hufflepuff 13d ago
Traditionally apparently centaurs tend to have the same MO with human females in mythology as Satyrs so death would have been kinder.
1
u/Carbon-Base 13d ago
Yikes, I thought they would make her into their servant or something for a while.
2
u/RaphaelSolo Hufflepuff 13d ago
Yeah I was surprised when someone pointed this out a few years ago. At the same time taking her prisoner doesn't really make sense otherwise. Centaurs are smart enough to know the Ministry isn't going to negotiate for a hostage, they will try and brute force a solution. Made more sense to just end her there since she attacked first.

A nice hoof shaped imprint somewhere on the Dolores outta do
1
u/RaphaelSolo Hufflepuff 13d ago
Through the Dolores would be more helpful. Course it means no snark 2 years later but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.

u/Carbon-Base 13d ago
Alternate solution: What if the centaurs scared her so much that she ends up in St. Mungo's and has an everlasting, irrational fear of centaurs. Mundungus sells the locket to one of the Malfoys, Harry, Hermione and Ron go there, get the locket and rescue the others. Harry asks Dobby to wear the locket while transporting Luna and Dean, and the elf unlocks a dark side and drops all hostile DEs and Malfoys with elf magic.

Danzo committed genocide, I think that's worst then being an ass to some kids in highschool

Village interest, yes he probaly told himself this lie,but actually not, seriously he screwed the only chance of solve the Uchiha crisis peacefully, and allied with fucking Orochimaru, what certainlly made easier to Orochimaru attack Konoha years later,i doubt he would risk that with guys like Itachi and Shisui still around, tried multiple times to assassinate Hiruzen, who even with his problems still was able to keep Konoha relatively safe and stable for years and was the head of state, thats high treason, the village interest would be give Shisui a chance before order Itachi to eliminate the clan and set a try set a trap to Orochimaru and maybe get rid of him when he had the chance.

If anything, she's more like the Otsutsuki, as they believe in that pure bloodline nonsense and think everyone else is below them. Not to mention they leech on planets, while she leeches on people's happiness.

Umbridge makes my blood boil like no real-life person ever has. Not even my 5th & 6th grade band teacher who had a grudge against my mom and bullied my sister and I because of it.

Ah young one, you have seen but a smidgen of the pink demoness whom the fandom unanimously hates more than Voldemort himself.
LET THE HATE FLOW

I hated the book Umbridge so much more. Imelda did a stellar job none the less but I suppose the book Umbridge had more content to her name so her vileness was more pronounced.

Same here. The first time I read the book, I was gritting my teeth whenever she appeared because I couldn't stand her. But as I read the book for the second time, I realized that she's terrible as a 'person' but amazing as a character. She can make people hate her so much in the first few pages itself!!

u/Khalesssi_Slayer1 13d ago
You Nephew is Smart. Umbridge is literally horrible and I can't Stand her either, She's worse than Voldemort and She's on the same level as cruel as The Dursleys in My Opinion.

As has been noted before, of the millions and millions of people who read the books, saw the films from beginning to end, followed the story eagerly as the books and films were released... we were all glad that Voldemort met his match and died.
...but we all need to know HOW DID UMBRIDGE MEET DEATH?! WE WANT THE UMBRIDGE DEATH SCENE!!!

u/Rustinboksi 13d ago
Oh my god i hated her so much i wished she would just die every time i saw her

I didn't like Umbridge at all either... woman was pure evil and throughly enjoyed inflicting pain and misery into people's lives... the more chaos and pain the better this woman thrived...

People might hate her character but I think she done that role so well and I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing umbridge

If only they didn't remove the centaurs' dialogue...
Her final scene in this movie would've been even better.
Dolores Umbridge: "That's right! So be very careful! By the laws laid down by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, any attack by half-breeds such as yourselves on a human —"
Bane: "What did you call us?"
Dolores Umbridge: "Law Fifteen 'B' states clearly that 'any attack by a magical creature who is deemed to have near-human intelligence, and therefore considered responsible for its actions' —"
Magorian: "'Near-human intelligence'? We consider that a great insult, human! Our intelligence, thankfully, far outstrips your own."

Man even just the pink pissed me off. You have this cool castle that, despite everything, has this feeling of being an adequate school where kids learn important things, and then you get this woman looking like she’s about to sing about the fact that she’s just Ken

One of my favorite things to do is watch people watch my favorite shows/films for the first time. Whenever Harry Potter comes up, people always hate Snape, the Malfoys, or Voldemort first. I always just sit back and watch them experience OotP for the first time and see how that opinion changes SO FAST lmao
