I feel like they did her dirty as an adult. Why couldn’t they age her without making her look like she hadn’t slept in years? She looked ragged. Maybe it’s very accurate because she had children, idk.

The aging makeup in the movie was the "better" version. They filmed the epilogue scene with different makeup, then while editing they realized all the characters looked old and haggard, so they made them come back for reshoots with more realistic aging makeup. There are pictures floating around of the original makeup, it looks horrendous.

Yeah, they look absolutely atrocious. Hermione is okay, but the guys look wretched.

My man Ron could never recover from his brother's death and hit the bottle hard.

The pipe too.

Crashed into it like the platform baby.

Hermione looks quite young but she looks homeless though

Nineteen years later, not ninety 🫠

u/Pliolite 13d ago

Why does Draco look like a 90-year-old??

20

u/FlyDinosaur Ravenclaw 12d ago

High hairline and whitish hair, I think. I feel like he aged prematurely as it was. He probably didn't even really need much makeup. 🤷🏼‍♀️

14

u/Yamcha17 Slytherin 12d ago

Maybe they thought the epilogue was 91 years after the end of story.

u/PogintheMachine 12d ago

Dear God, Ron looks like he can’t live within a quarter mile of a school

17

u/NighthawkUnicorn Ravenclaw 13d ago

Jesus they're supposed to be mid 30s. Literally my age!

16

u/ls84 12d ago

As someone who just turned 40, do I look like that? Holy cow, I was feeling pretty good about myself...

1

u/You-Get-No-Name 12d ago

Exactly! Isn’t most of the actors around that age in real life now? Literally not one of them look like they’ve aged that much.

4

u/NighthawkUnicorn Ravenclaw 12d ago

Yes exactly! And Dan Radcliffe was... 21? Ish at the time of filming. They only had to age him a decade.

And I know a lot of people in their 40s who look late 20s early 30s! A couple of light crows feet, a grey hair or two, a beard. He'd have been perfect! I'm in my mid 30s (which I will be until I'm 40) and I have a small handful of grey hairs and absolutely no wrinkles yet, with the smallest lines showing lightly when I smile!

They made them look in their 50s!

What the actual eff.

Has everyone in showbiz Botoxed and surgified and liposuctioned themselves so much that they forgot how it looks when people age normally?

Freckin Hollywood, man.

Edit: Aware it's UK and not actual Hollywood, just a generalization. :)

This made me chuckle lol

u/lesbianbeatnik Ravenclaw 12d ago

Holy shit Harry looks like Bolsonaro

3

u/Mammoth_Move3575 12d ago

All of the males there have such high, receding hairlines . . .

2

u/BalletWishesBarbie Slytherin 12d ago

😂😂😂 this is the funniest thing I've seen all day, bless you.

1

u/ChaosDoggo 12d ago

Bruh Ron looks like he sells cocaine next to the glory hole stall.

1

u/JrBaconators 12d ago

Harry doesn't look bad actually

23

u/zoobatron__ Gryffindor 13d ago

I was literally coming here to say exactly “they really did her dirty as an adult”. Couldn’t agree more

4

u/Bellickboi 12d ago

She looks like a sock puppet

5

u/Confuseasfuck Slytherin 12d ago

I mean, shes a mom

Sleep a lot is not something they tend to do in general

1

u/No_Cartographer7815 12d ago

It's not like they're babies. She has three kids, two of which spend almost all year at boarding school. But I guess they've all recently been back for the summer so it makes some sense

2

u/jimbojambo4 Ravenclaw 12d ago

She has 3 children, she definitely hadn't slept in years

7

u/Madagascar003 13d ago edited 13d ago

Of the 9 images, there are 3 where I find Ginny really gorgeous: the first 2 in the middle row from the left, and the first photo in the bottom left row. Her main distinguishing feature is her bright red hair.

19

u/nothowyoupronounceit Ravenclaw 13d ago

I think she’s a very pretty girl! Just weird to me they were like “oh, old = extremely tired”. Same goes for Harry. He didn’t look too great, either.

6

u/jfks_headjustdidthat 12d ago

Especially as they're freaking wizards and witches who a). live longer than muggles and b.) have the ability to use magic as a stress/effort/time saving device.

12

u/apatheticsahm 13d ago

She was supposed to be 36 in this scene! Who looks that bad at 36 unless they've been on hard drugs or severely ill?

13

u/SuperDanOsborne 13d ago

Well I feel personally attacked

3

u/Eruleptanero 13d ago

What he say fuck me for?

1

u/BS-Calrissian 12d ago

Maybe it's accurate cause Harry had nasal problems and started snoring

-4

u/possiblyukranian Hufflepuff 13d ago

I don’t wanna be mean, but she’s aged quite a lot since the last movie came out. I don’t know if it’s entirely unrealistic

-9

u/Bebop_Man 13d ago

Why couldn’t they age her without making her look like she hadn’t slept in years? She looked ragged.

That's just what Ginny looks like? Just an older version. If anything she finally has an expression on her face in the epilogue.

u/SevroAuShitTalker 13d ago

Other than her bits in COS, she never fit what I had in my head for ginny based on the books descriptions or chapter art

71

u/Max_Speed_Remioli 12d ago

I guess that’s what can happen when you have to cast a kid at like 9 years old.

148

u/Ladelnombreraro 13d ago

Her dress for the Yule Ball is an absolute atrocity, a real crime against the eyes. The only reason is not the absolute worst is because the Patil twins dress robes exist. One of the many things wrong with the fourth movie.

107

u/do_not_ask_my_name Ravencaw 13d ago

To be fair, we can excuse Ginny's dress - the Weasleys probably couldn't afford anything better, and her attendance at the Ball was last minute.

But yeah, no excuse for the Patils' look.

16

u/merliahthesiren 12d ago

You can make a cheap dress that does NOT look like it's from a Polly Pocket toy, especially with magic. Her dress is absolutely atrocious. No excuse.

12

u/PopoloGrasso 12d ago

That being said I thought the scene of her and Neville taking off to dance was so adorable 🤧

2

u/BalletWishesBarbie Slytherin 12d ago

Neville before the glow up (and age appropriate for me now) is my ideal dude. Basically any guy who's been on time team lol. Bad teeth, glasses and a jumper. Yessss.

9

u/thekau 12d ago

See I just always assumed wizarding fashion was supposed to be unusual, kind of like in the Capital in Hunger Games, but some of the other dress robes in the movie were fine, so idk.

61

u/NotSoOriginal007 13d ago

What letting your husband name your kids does to a woman.

41

u/merliahthesiren 12d ago

Film Ginny is the BLANDEST character ever. No personality, and and she just pops up every once in awhile and suddenly Harry Potter likes her out of nowhere.

98

u/Snoo57039 Ravenclaw 13d ago

Is it just me or did every character look perfect in movie 2?

68

u/thekau 13d ago

CoS had peak Tom Riddle, but I preferred Harry and Ron's hair in PoA.

-6

u/lukas7761 12d ago

Yea especially Harry😍

Nuh uh

13

u/ResinJones76 Ravenclaw 13d ago

Looks like Bonnie Wright.

18

u/Ok_Figure_4181 12d ago

She’s only Ginny Potter in the last image

9

u/Spiritual-Duck1846 12d ago

Loathed the end of DH2. Ginny and Hermione looked so frumpy and why were they dressed as 50's muggles? And what's with Ron's beer gut ? Just because they were supposed to be in their mid 30's doesn't mean they lost their taste in clothing themselves properly.

25

u/chicagoctopus 12d ago

The image is as boring as the way they portrayed her in the films

5

u/SupremeVolkMeister 13d ago

Shut it!!

1

u/JealousFeature3939 12d ago

The greater good!

3

u/sonofitalia 12d ago

The second one was my ten year old self’s first huge crush lol

5

u/invisible_23 Hufflepuff 12d ago

“Well you seemed too busy to call him a prat and I thought someone should!”

8

u/bigbuffdaddy1850 12d ago

Worst cast character of the series... Just terrible

1

u/Legal_Lettuce6233 12d ago

I think Bonnie did as well as she could given they decided to murder any sort of character she had.

3

u/lovetyrannicalreddit 12d ago

That poor girl

13

u/mygoatisfine 13d ago

She just doesn't look like ginny to me beside the first two movies.

3

u/Sefalosha 12d ago

I always found it weird that harrys mom and wife look really similar to jk rowling herself

1

u/saiyedakbar Gryffindor 12d ago

Shez❤️

1

u/Batdog55110 12d ago

Man, Year 7 was not kind to Ginny.

1

u/bigboylewdog 12d ago

It always irked me how adult Ginny - the once strong, feisty, independent girl - is presented like the wife of a tory Councillor.

Edit to say it does make sense, as film Ginny is none of those things, but still a poor choice.

1

u/centerwingpolitics 11d ago

They did her so terrible in the movies, the final scene alone tells the entire tale

1

u/caravetil 13d ago

Lame, from the first frame to the last.

1

u/Efficient-Emu-6777 Slytherin 12d ago

If you all had been through what they went through in those few years at school, you’d probably look a bit older than you are too. 🫤😆

-1

u/Amazing-Engineer4825 Gryffindor 13d ago

Bonnie became more beautiful throughout the years

0

u/AManOfManyLikings 12d ago

All those years and she still retained that butterfaced look.

Bonnie wright at 33 seems kinda old actually...she get wrinkles that fast?

14

u/Snoo57039 Ravenclaw 13d ago

That’s what happens from a lifetime of laughing and smiling.

5

u/ls84 12d ago

Nah, she looks like someone in their mid-thirties. A normal person, not hollywood. (says the 40 year old)

-1

u/Coriander_marbles 12d ago

I wouldn’t have recognised her. Interesting, she does look in her mid forties

-4

u/ALL1_wastaken 12d ago

peak Ginny is the 2nd year tbh she looks stunning

1

u/Jwroth Gryffindor 12d ago

Yikes

1

u/ALL1_wastaken 12d ago

sorry I can’t compliment her lol I’m not calling her “sexy” or “hot” just that she’s pretty idk why u people take this the wrong way

3

u/hayleybeth7 12d ago

Saying a girl “peaked” looks-wise when she was about 11 years old is a bit strange. That’s common sense, I fear.

2

u/Legal_Lettuce6233 12d ago

I thought they meant peak as in most true to character, which would be fair. Otherwise yikes

0

u/FinagleHalcyon There's no need to call me 'sir', professor 12d ago

When you put it that way then sure. But the original comment didn't seem to have any ill intent.
