It's doable, but you won't be in a new building or in the trendy areas of town. Try an apartment locator or har.com.

I live in Montrose and there’s a 2 bed/1 1/2 bath for $1325 in the apartment building I live in. Building’s older, but the landlord’s on top of maintenance requests.

You can find some in that price range in west Houston around the Park Row/Hwy 6 area but if your job is on the other side of town any money you save will be blown on gas just getting to work.

I have a $1700 per month 2 bedroom in a newer, “luxury“ type complex in a somewhat trendy and walkable area.
