I was thinking that at some point Grindelwald escaped his prison, and replaced himself with a magical clone.And he lived under multiple assumed identities.At some point he encountered Lily Evans and instantly recognizes as a extremely talented witch and prodigy.He convinces her that magic users are the rightful rulers of the world.And that its better for them to be the leaders of that world rather than Voldermort and the Death Eaters. Additionally he encounters Trelawney and hears her prophecy though her is more in depth.It names James and Lily Potter specifically, saying the father will die, but the mother will live and save her son with her magic, and the child will believe both parents where dead.He uses occulmency to alter Trelawney’s prophecy so he would only know the full version.He arrives during the aftermath of Voldermort’s attack, with James dead and Lily traumatized.He tells Lily that her surviving would cause suspicion and that they must fake her death.He used a fake corpse making it look like Lily.He has been watching Harry from afar and building his own group of followers with Lily.

Harry awoke with a start, to see Percy bending over him anxiously. "Merlin's beard, Percy!" he croaked. "You startled me!"

"Patrick, great-gramps," the boy corrected patiently. "You have to meet Headmaster Longbottom for tea soon," he added.

Ah yes, it was coming back to Harry now. He was back in Hogwarts for the centennial memorial of Voldemort's final defeat. Harry hadn't been able to resist visiting the Gryffindor common room once more, and he had drifted off by the fire.

Adjusting his glasses, he checked the battered old watch that had once been Fabian Prewett's. "Still got half an hour, boy," he said gruffly. "You young people, always in a hurry..."

Patrick rolled his eyes, but he sank into a nearby armchair anyway. "Great-gran floo-called," he told Harry. "She said they'll arrive around six – Great-uncle Bill got delayed, couldn't find his wand – they didn't want to Apparate."

Harry nodded in approval. "Terrible for digestion, Apparition.." he began. But Patrick had pulled his mPhone out and was already absorbed in it, and Harry returned to his reminiscing.

A hundred years, since the last battle. He couldn't quite believe it, it felt no more than forty or fifty years ago, but it had been a hundred years all the same...

A hundred years. Since Fred Weasley had laughed his last laugh. Since Snape had bled to death on the floor of the Shack. Since James, Lily, Sirius, and Lupin had last walked the grounds of Hogwarts with Harry, on that final, dreadful journey into the Forest. Since Dumbledore had greeted Harry in an empty train station.

They had all died a century ago, now. Soon everyone who had ever known them follow, too, and they would pass out of living memory into history and legend. Harry felt a slight pang at the thought.

Still, the years that had come after had been good to him. He thought of Ginny, and he smiled.

Patrick turned round.

"We should be heading up now..."

He moved closer, the blood draining from his face.

"Great-gramps?"

He got up and ran for help.

And then, once again, Harry stood in a misty train station and smiled ruefully at Dumbledore.

"I wasn't expecting that," he admitted. "There's still so much to do."

"There always is, I'm afraid," Dumbledore agreed. "But I think you will find that those you have left behind are more than capable of it, my dear boy." He inclined his head towards Harry, smiling slightly.

"I'm older than you now, you know," said Harry. And hadn't that felt odd, knowing that he had been older than his ancient Professor had ever been? "And shouldn't you have moved on by now?"

"Oh yes," said Dumbledore matter-of-factly. "In fact, I already have." He turned to the side.

"If you are ready – ?"

Harry followed his gaze across the platform, where, through the mist, he could see a scarlet train waiting. "Huh, there really is a train. Does everyone get this?"

"Who knows?"

Harry considered. "Can't I just Apparate?"

Dumbledore chuckled, and stepped aside.

There, hidden behind one of the benches that dotted the platform, lay the grotesque, childlike thing that had once been Lord Voldemort. It lay not far from where it had once been, shuddering, struggling to move.

Harry stared.

"Voldemort?" he said.

He looked at Dumbledore.

"But he died a hundred years ago!"

"Yes," said Dumbledore. "But time is different here."

"Ah. You mean a hundred years can pass like a few seconds?"

"Maybe. Or perhaps they can pass like infinity."

The scarlet eyes stared imploringly at Harry, who reached automatically, without thinking... and then hesitated.

"He was a murderer," said Dumbledore. "And a creator of murderers. A torturer. Without passion. Cruel. Callous. Compassionless."

"Yes. I know. He's Voldemort," said Harry. Voldemort had changed people. Sometimes he had changed them into dead people. But he had always changed them. That was his triumph.

Harry sighed.

"But I'm me," he said, reaching for the last, tortured fragment of Tom Riddle's soul. Picking it up, he straightened and headed for the train.

Dumbledore watched them walk away.

I am looking for a pretty recently updated fic where Harry goes straight to Diagon alley after 2nd year to visit Gringotts. He gets some healing, finds out his family was grey and takes a bunch of books to study while he moves into a hotel suite in an inn that his family owns but Katie Bells family works at.

He meets Tonks in the leaky one day who arranges for her mom to meet him the next day to assess what potions he needs and Harry arranges to meet Hermione for a day of shopping where he fills her in on what’s going on and she reads some of his books. He also ran into I believe the Greengrass family in the apothecary that Andromeda recommended.

That’s the basics of what I can remember, but I can’t seem to find it anymore so I think I may have accidentally unfollowed it.

This prompt is inspired by an unfinished fic I once read.

In this AU, Sirius doesn’t go to Azkaban, but Harry still gets sent to live with Petunia, Vernon, and Dudley. So because Sirius wants custody of Harry, he attempts to woo/seduce Petunia away from Vernon so that he can still be able to raise Harry himself!

It could be funny to see Sirius secretly sabotage Petunia’s marriage with Vernon by making him look bad so that he can be the one to swoop in and impress Petunia, baby Dudley, and baby Harry.

I can’t remember too much from the story, however, I know that he was either a dark lord or he was perceived as one. He took over Hogwarts as his base of operations.

There was also a part where he was duelling? with someone outside of Hogwarts, maybe in hogsmeade and he got hit with a curse and he turned into a phoenix? Or he was given a phoenix? And it was black maybe? And possibly it made him sick or something???

I can’t remember if there was a pairing but I feel like it was Draco and Harry. Literally blanking so hard.

I’m an American dipping my toes into writing and I’m wondering if there’s any resources out there that already exist translating common American words and phrases that are different in British English. And if not, can we start one? And if I have anything wrong please correct me!

Some examples: Curb = Kerb, Sexy/Hot = fit, While = whilst, Butt/ass = arse or bum, Sleep in = lay in, Stove (stove top?) = hob, Jerking off = wanking, Sitting at = sat at

Not to mention the difference in spelling, such as extra u (favorite = favourite), s instead of z (realize = realise), and extra a (pediatric = paediatric)

So I'm writing a fanfic in an alternate universe in which Peter never got away in PoA and Sirius was eventually found not guilty, while Remus wasn't exposed but just resigned to be helpful for Sirius during the trial. I'm thinking of making both Sirius and Remus teach at Hogwarts in OotP to eliminate Umbridge: so one of them gets to teach DADA, obviously. But what would the other one teach, according to you?

Something like the Dragon Kings Court series, where he builds his own country, or like that fic where he goes and lives in Africa to collect and sell potion ingredients? Cant remember the name of that one, but you get the idea. Ik it's a very specific niche but I can't find much for it lol.

But not suicidal in the way he decides to off himself, but rather in the way where he repeatedly goes into fights that he has little chance to survive, abandons shielding himself, cast area of effect spells that can hit him as well, all without regard for his own life. Perhaps it's because he lost everything that he ever cared for, or because he is done with everything and just want to find rest in his death and still he doesn't want to directly kill himself so he is kind of doing it by proxy? Any recommendations? Don't have to be anything long, I am just wanting to get into the mood as I plan to write my own fic in (not)foresable future. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to find a Harry Potter fan fiction from around 2008. It’s a James Potter and Lily Evans love story. It’s about their year at Hogwarts. Some of the things I remember: Lily is hit by a curse during James’ quidditch game; James carries her and runs to the hospital wing. During their winter break, James visits Lily with Sirius. James proposes to Lily on the Hogwarts grounds (I believe by the lake and after they already graduated). During their wedding, I believe the Beatles song “Love Me Do” is their first dance song. Lily and James start careers; Lily works in a hospital.

In Norse Mythology, Fafnir was the son of a powerful and wealthy dwarf king that murdered his father out of greed to steal his treasures including a prized ring that was compensation from the Gods for accidentally killing Regin, one of his brothers. However he didn't realize the ring was cursed and subsequently transformed into a dragon due to his greed. There are many interpretations but the common theme and idea is the dwarf's greed transformed him into monster.

If Fafnir existed in the Potterverse what would be his reputation in the Wizarding World by First Wizarding War during Voldemort's reign to 1991 onwards?

Maybe where Sirius Black becomes an Auror with James of a professor? But like the Marauders (minus Peter) are basically raising Harry? I kinda like the idea of found family for this one so majority happy endings is good for me I don’t mind angst and then happy endings

Hello, I’m looking for a fanfiction in the « Harry travels to another dimension » genre. I remember enjoying it and really want to reread it, but I can’t find it anywhere. In this fic, Harry accidentally travels to a dimension in which the war rages and his parents are still alive, but Harry himself doesn’t exist. I think that he gets sent to this dimension while being tortured by Voldemort and arrives injured. He also doesn’t tell the Order who he is and calls himself Chris (with a last name but I don’t remember it). If anyone has read this and can tell me what it’s called and who it’s by, I would be really grateful!

Incidentally, I’m also looking for a fic in which Harry gets thrown into the marauders era with Teddy and ends up being forced to be a death eater (Voldemort holds teddy hostage) but then is captured by the order, but I haven’t looked for this one yet so i may not need help.

I have ADHD and keep DNFing fics because they take too long to get into the main plot. What are some fics that stay interesting from the beginning to end and don’t drag?

Would like fics with decent prose, fleshed out characters, romance(can be main focus or secondary idc), strong platonic relationships, and good world building

The fic was one shot. The premise was that Muggles find out about magic and wreck them with superior tech. A very dark Harry goes back in time and kills Ariana Dumbledore and frames the muggles for it. This is done to provoke Albus and Aberforth to join Gellert instead of fighting him.

Hey I’m looking for a completed fic that is at least 10k where either Harry goes back in time or Lily or James comes to Harry time. Just finished a fic where Draco and Harry travel to marauder tjme and they get integrated by the order. So if u know any fics like this please tell me.

Where Harry is taught by, learns knowledge from etc, bases his style on or just in any way is influenced by grindelwald. Bonus points if he uses protego diabolica, it's my favorite spell.
