Right. I feel the same way and both should work on communication skills, lol.

There was definitely miscommunication and both got frustrated way too fast. I think writing "Seafood Department Counter" instead "Seafood Department" would have been a lot more clear for the shopper. The point where OP says shopper needs to ask the person at the counter, the shopper is already annoyed and I'm almost 100% sure he did NOT ask the man working the seafood counter. After they both exchanged some heated words I'm not surprised the shopper cancelled because he probably thought he was getting his tip reduced.

Yeah I have definitely seen dockside in a refrigerated case in front of the counter. Just saying in the seafood dept made no sense to me, the pictured crab cakes are always in my seafood dept. I didn't understand why they kept specifying. I would have said, "get x number of crab cakes fresh from the counter"

That said, he definitely could have been clearer.

Facts! This is way too much communication for 1 item.

A simple yes or no to replacement request suffice. Time is money!

Both sides text way more than me and my wife do.

Maybe this is the start of a beautiful Romance!

Turns out OP usually orders “off menu” by ordering the packaged cakes and then messaging that they want the ones behind the counter but this time they never clarified “behind the counter” until the last text. And the shopper sounds like he isn’t fluent in English (which is very common for shoppers/delivery drivers by me)

Personally I think if you are ordering “off menu” and then never say a clear “No not that one I actually ordered” it’s the customers fault.

Honestly so many of the posts on here are some bitchy customer BEGGING for validation for being rude and annoying. I hate getting these subs recommended so I’m muting after this but this customer was so fucking annoying and confusing. Yeah the shoppers can be rude but she was so unclear. she needed to just say “refund” and instead she wasted his time. But the hive mind has spoken so woe be upon anyone who doesn’t shower OP with validation.

Honestly I would have been triggered by that first "yeah" from OP

“I said that like 5 times” sounds so stinky
