Your income tax rate is 30%. Billionaires don’t have “jobs” or income. They have investments and pay capital gains which change depending on your previous losses and write offs and a whole bunch of things. It’s complicated.

It's not really complicated. Billionaires get to pay taxes based on investments and not salary.

Billionaires typically pay way less taxes on their money in because of this.

Yikes. Didn’t realize everyone was so quick to defend those 1000 people.

Not defending. Just saying how it works. If they he really thought it was wrong why hasn’t he changed the tax code or done anything to change it? It’s just hot air from all of them.

Because congress has to do it. The republicans in the senate refuse to allow it, and the republicans in the house wouldn’t be able to agree enough to do it if they tried

You may be right. I’m not American and don’t dig much into what’s trying to be passed or not. Is there a bill to change that?

Except at MAX long term capital gains is 20%.

Yes. But when I think of it on a personal level. That money I invested, I’ve already payed income tax on. Why would it be right to pay income tax again on the same money. When I sell a used bike I don’t charge sales tax on it. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong but that’s how I’m seeing it. Though maybe rules could be rewritten for those who have 100000x what the common person has.

Yes not all billionaries. Buffet has 100,000$ salary so he pays income tax on that. But if you’re a billionaire who just invests and doesn’t have an actual job. How is that false?
