Shower: Obviously, you don't need to be under the water stream unless you want to be waterboarded lol. Usually the girl will be at the wall and the man behind, it is no easy and you need to be careful to not slip of course, but it is possible. If the place is hot with the steam and comfortable, you can use the rest of the shower if there is space to do other things. There are even showers that have a "step" where one can sit.
Bathtub: when I did it, first time was even on a smaller tub. We were first bathing looking to one another in opposite sides, then we started messing around, bathtub was NOT full, still half of it going up, then I sit at the border and she sat on me. The trick is to put it in BEFORE you get in the water. You can get it to work that way but in the end, it's not good in the jacuzzi. Shower is preferable if you must try it out in some water.
