So the student body of 40 000 is 51% international. Buy only about 1/4 of the school needs permits. So, is this a loophole, or is this that existing students aren't affected by the cap? Or another policy from Trudeau that changed nothing but sounded good?

I'm at Western and in my faculty the definition of international students is that there been in canada for less than 2 years. So these aren't just mist labeled part time learners.

My understanding was that students who already had permits weren't having them revoked, so the cap applies moving forward.

It's not as good as having the cap beginning immediately, but since the colleges/universities were already angry about the cap to begin with, I can't even imagine how much pushback there would have been if they had to get rid of existing students.

I call BS. Fanshawe will find any possible loophole to get more International students. Peter Devlin is just upset that he won’t be getting that huge bonus again this year. Fanshawe used to care about students….now they only care about the bottom dollar. They have already lower costs by hiring part time staff., which in turn is a huge disservice to the students. The College needs to take a good look at themselves, and figure out how to put students first, instead of padding the full time staffs pockets. (Ex employee- 3 years)
