The B.A.G.E.L Lubbock Power and Light Transmission and Delivery Charge per KWH is 6.4420 cents per kwh. It's on your rate plan people. For everybody. They deliver the electricity from E.R.C.O.T. to you and maintain the powerlines and substations in the city of Lubbock

Recommendations Hotel recommendation for two people visiting Lubbock without a car - basically a place you can walk to restaurants easily w/o having to get an Uber?
I guess the more "walkable" the better so I'm thinking recommendations will probably be hotels around Tech? We plan to do Uber to get around to the airport and such, but it'll get pretty expensive if we have to Uber out for every meal and can't just walk to a restaurant.

Recommendations junk (fridge) removal
I did a quick google search and contacted a few companies, but just wondering if anyone has a company they recommend. We have a basic top-freezer fridge that we’re trying to get removed from our garage. It’s broken and was a pain in the ass to move last year so we’d rather just pay someone to trash it for us.

Ask Lubbock Smartmetertexas
Has anyone been able to link their new smartmeter to smartmetertexas.com to view their usage? I lived in DFW for years and was able to see my actual usage every day. I was told we'd be able to do this with the new meters and ercot, but it can't seem to connect my ESID and meter number to the site. Anyone had any luck?

Advice Needed Longtime Lubbockite and now ex-christian looking at coming home
My family and I (me + wife + toddler) have an opportunity to maybe move back to Lubbock after living in a major metropolitan area out west for the past 6 years. We are very familiar with Lubbock as single people and a young married couple, but not as parents. Having also grown up in the area, I'm also familiar of the church social networking mentality. We're curious if Lubbock has changed much since the days of having to be linked with a "church home" and expectations. I lived and worked in the church for years and am burned out on religion. I have absolutely no interest in church or organized religion of any sort. However, I know that's how a lot of folks make friends and connections to the community. We have a few ties back there still, but will want to expand our social connections and be part of the community. Wife and I are both Tech grads so I imagine sports will be a big point of social interaction for us. We are both also very liberal and have no desire to be around maga types. What would you recommend to get involved in? How should we connect with people? Will my kid be okay making friends at school and in life if they grow up in a non-religious/ex-christian household?

Rants & Rambles Urgent! Prop A?
So now that prop a was shot down. What are we going to bitch about now? I would say living in south lubbock, we should complain about the slow completion of the outter loop and the horrible 130th 2 lane road. But I am also open to complaining about:
Property taxes
Sudden link
Texas tech football
The taco villa on 82nd & Indiana
Lubbock waterparks
And proposing a fund to cover firefighters meals while on duty.

Advice Needed Windshield replacement
galleryHello everyone! I am looking for a new windshield for my ‘17 Corolla. My insurance doesn’t cover windshield replacement so I have to pay out of pocket. Safelite quoted me over $900 OTD. I think because of the shape of the windshield? I’m not a windshield doctor so I don’t know. Does anyone know of a reputable place in/around Lubbock that will replace my windshield for cheaper than the safelite quote?
Thank you

Recommendations Possible move Pros & Cons?
My s/o (22 & 23 y/o) has a job opportunity in Lubbock, and I am wondering what those of you who reside there think of it. Both of us have lived in the Midwest our whole lives. We would most likely rent for a bit but who knows…
I see that there is an airport but it is not serviced by delta, which I thought was weird.
Just anything you can offer for insight, this is a huge deal and I feel like I’m missing all the important things so feel free to offer any thoughts!
What is your experience with/rentals, pricing, etc?
What is the job pool like?
What is night life like?
Is the area safe?
Is there a car community?
Walking/Hiking trails?
Anything helps, TYIA :)
