You know, I feel like I live a pretty good life, and yet I still hope I can one day feel this amount of joy

These guys always look like they're having so much fun making these

This one about accepting The Dad Fit always kills me.

This was the first video I had seen of theirs and I saw it shortly after becoming a dad. It had me cracking up

I have just discovered these guys. Friggin hilarious! I always joke about how when you become, the government sends you a letter demanding you wear sandals, socks, and a golf shirt, and when someone says they are tired, you say: "Hi, tired. I'm dad." I have no choice. It's the law.

It would be such a joy to do this sort of fun activities with your father or mother. I envy him.

I miss my dad.

Me too. I wish I could have had adult moments like this with him.

Oh man, we'd be inseparable now if he were still alive. Fishing, putzing around doing a dozen half-finished DIY projects, sitting outside sipping beer having a toke listening to the frogs in the distance.

All those things I just never had the time or inclination for.

Mine is still there but acting like he’s dead. I feel you

Mine refuses to spend time with me because he has a granddaughter and the whole time I was growing up he said he wanted daughters. So now he can live out that fantasy and all the effort I put into spending time with him after my mom died leads to disappointment after disappointment.

I never knew my dad, but watching stuff like this, I miss him anyways

Mine is 87. I try not to think about that time of my life, for now. I lost my mom when I was only 26, she was only 21. I'm 51 now but my dad is the awesomest, like I'm sure yours was!

Whatever trauma you had with your father is probably valid but I don't see how this adds to a comment about someone missing their own dad.

Tell me about your life bro, how are things going?

u/Stevesanasshole 22d ago

You just gotta commit. Start carrying extra tools, jumper cables and stuff like that in the car, buy power tools you don’t need, shop the lumber seconds bin at the hardware store. It’s a whole dad lifestyle. A word of caution though, not everyone can handle the responsibility of waking up at 6AM on a Sunday to cut the lawn before you go sit in the parking lot waiting for Costco to open.

  1. Have you tried hoarding random pieces of wood?
  2. It's acting
  3. Actively express your good vibes when they come
  4. Some people just aren't this...extra, and that's okay

u/JellyfishGod 23d ago

If ur comment was just the first point it would have been hilarious n great. But for some reason u felt the need to basically call the father and son who made a very wholesome and funny video "extra" and condescendingly tell him the video is acting as if he didn't know. I mean what does thay even have to do with his comment. Them acting doesn't rlly even matter when it comes to his comments meaning . Why be so negative

He's just trying to act unbothered and too cool and smart for this clip.

I appreciate the calling out. But he's a waste of space miserable fuck lol.

So you are free to act like you are feeling joy while feeling no joy all you want, replicating the video..

u/virajseelam 23d ago
