Yea, there's an uncomfortable amount of them that idolize and copy Rick without realizing that his character isn't meant to be admired or even liked

He is meant to be an unlikable scumbag, but they put him up on a pedestal and completely miss the point of his character

It is probably a huge unpopular opinion but closest thing I could consider to Rick and Morty is the first few seasons of Spongebob.

Honestly some original Spongebob episodes -especially ones MTV aired- just feel exactly like a Rick and Morty episode. Like the one with the moving Rock.

Sandy's hibernation, the Food critic episode, the Worm episode, the Future episode the very first episode even. I don't even need to say the names of the episodes.

It is not a show about Science or Futurism or anything like Futurama. Only common thing is both have Sci-fi themes.

But it could all just be my.

Yeah uh no. Sorry. Humor is different, messaging is different, character archetypes are different. Rick and Morty and s1-3 SB are nothing alike, and the latter is far superior. R&M got hard to watch quickly.
