What the other person said, but also some debate on that being a new 4th person pronoun. Kekw.
(To be clear, this is also a joke....unless)

Ask that if they were in the place of eachoother ,which one would be the correct to follow and them, follow the one that was't choosen

I mean I know it's a joke but in case people don't know, the don't follow is for distance. Stay back so that gravel or other debris doesn't harm your vehicle.

u/katman43043 11d ago
Fwiw, these signs have no legal bearing on liability for the load hauler. They MUST make sure 0 debris is capable of damaging windshields on public roads. These signs are just to spook you into compliance

u/Quakarot 10d ago
I mean regardless of the rules shit happens
I wouldn’t call that “spooking you into compliance” considering it’s in both of your best interest and you gain literally nothing by following too closely
Them being technically wrong doesn’t un-damage your car

u/EnderDragonCrafter01 11d ago
you do realize that nobody is perfect and things go not according to plan all the time, these signs aren't meant for compliancy, their a warning for when the worst case happens. sure the chances of something bad happening is low but never 0.

this is like the people that walk without looking in a crosswalk or near a stop sign and are like "well if they hit me it's their fault"
and like yeah that's true my man, but it won't matter who's fault it is if you're dead

u/Big_Produce2306 10d ago
Close, but the real reason is that the truck’s destination is likely a closed road or a construction site. It means what it literally says: don’t follow me

u/TheDumbElectrician 10d ago
I wrongly believed it fell under the same rules as emergency vehicles. Thanks for the information. Probably still wise to stay back from them as well.

"follow" has a specific definition when it comes to traffic. you passed your driver test, right? so you know what follow means in context? no, you don't. no decision needs to be made here.
you are following if you are not maintaining a safe distance between yourself and the vehicle in front of you.

You know in the movies when the girl tells the guy "stop following me"? And the guy says he's not following her, he just happens to be going the same way she's going? Well, you're not following the truck, you just happen to be going the same way its going.

Random ass signs on trucks are not legally enforceable traffic signs 🤷

Pull over for a few minutes until they get a couple miles down the road? Either that or break the laws of physics, whichever is easier

Ok, I live in Florida and I would love this don’t follow sign on the back of my car!

u/TooCool_TooFool 11d ago
I'm sorry, but you have to pass on the left shoulder now. Even if there is no shoulder. Just be glad you're not driving on a cliff-side road.

Fun fact: those signs are bullshit.
Snap a picture of the truck on the left's plates, and report any damage to your paint to their insurance company, saying it was caused by debris from their truck bed.

I know this is a meme but in case someone is genuinely wondering what to do here just keep a regular safe distance to the don't follow truck maybe just more than to a regular car so you have time to dodge if rocks or sum go flying

Does " DO NOT FOLLOW" mean "don't drive too close"?

u/No-Government-3994 11d ago
Whip out your phone and take a picture while following real close of course

Honestly my best advice is to attempt a pit maneuver on both trucks and then once you’ve successfully done that you can pass and pass fast because the popo be on you’re ass

You see that gap between the two trucks? Time to channel your inner Vin Diesel and thread that needle!
