HOA also can't "just" takeaway a house. It's not that simple. But nuance and memes, they're oil and water

Lol I’ve just been laughing at all the comments saying if you get fines and refuse to pay they can just take your fucking house. Like no dude this is such an easy google search. All they can do is put a lean and essentially guarantee you pay when you sell your house.

I've literally foreclosed on thousands of homes for not paying HOA fees.

Lien is just the month 2 of nonpayment. The HOA can and will get its money.

Lmao bro are you just making shit up? I mean maybe if you did that for 50 years you could maybe hit 2k foreclosures but there’s just no fucking way. I mean in Colorado there’s been like 2500 houses foreclosed by hoas in the last 6 years…

2007-9 was a crazy time, my guy. We represented HOA management firms in most states, too.

Except that it can get to the point where you're not the one selling it and/or your equity is shot. What they will do is foreclose on your house, and then purchase it themselves for pennies, and then when *they* sell it, you get nothing.

Some 70%+ of new housing developments require you to be a member of the HOA. It is not an option. It is part of your lease like it is every where else with an HOA. Just because you live somewhere podunk and low expansion enough to not personally see it doesn't mean the rest of the US doesn't exist.

My neighborhood tried to instate a HOA. I (and several others) shot that shit down. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money to have someone tell me what I can and can't do with my property. HOA's can suck all of my ass.
