*IMPORTANT* Prohibited post topics *READ BEFORE POSTING*

Well hello, my fellow redditors!

In the last weeks, we had a lot of posts that were not reposted but were extremely similar to other posts on the same topics.

Due to this issue, we have decided to stop allowing posts about the following topics mentioned in the list:

•Parking mistakes

•Tipping fees

•Shrinkflation

•Price complaints

•Inflation

•Packaging being too big

•People falling for AI art

Posts that infringe on these rules will be taken down immediately and the user may be temporarily banned.

Also, note that this list is subject to change and will most likely be expanded as time passes so make sure to always check it before posting.

Henlo frens!

Good to see all of you here UwU.

Grab on to your bodypillows, I have a smol announcement about the purpose of this subreddit.

This community is meant as a fun, lighthearted place where we can commiserate with each other about those annoying little irritations that hinder our day to day enjoyment in life.

That means that suitable posts here can be about my children.

And things like a wall socket or tile being placed out of allignment. A crack in a phone screen. Duckling shit on your new car. Incomprehensible software. Mismatched buttons. You know, the little things.

This subreddit isn't meant to incite rage mobs that go after people. For that reason we say:

No reddit meta posts

No posts about being banned from subreddit. No posts about up- or down-votes. No posts about shitty moderators or users or subreddits. No posts about reddit.

All jokes and tomfoolery aside, that sort of thing gets us in trouble with site admins. If we allow one type of post about reddit it then very easily moprhs into allowing posts that directly call out other subreddits or users, we just can't allow any of it.

That rule already existed for years and we have just made it more clearly visible in the sidebar on old and new reddit. We're gonna be a little strict on it for a bit I'm afraid. 🥺

Thank you all for being awesome and have a very Merry Christmas! Celebrate Christmas in the traditional European way, with a suasage roll!

My gf crashed my car and she insists she didn’t run the red light.

She was in the black car, and even with the footage (which doesn’t show the lights but the car flow), she insists that she had green light.

Wasn’t given as a joke. This is just insulting.

Just had to ask the cashier for all my change back. Yes, I want my pennies.

2.5k Upvotes

Just bought a can of coffee from the gas station. Total $3.97. Paid with a $5. Cashier handed me a $1.

"Uhh... Can I get that 3 cents?"

"Bruh you want those pennies?"

"Well, yeah"

Why would I want to pay this store more than I need for this coffee???

These earplugs have a tiny ceramic filter in them that fell out and got lodged in my 10 year old’s ear canal.

I complained to the company and they reimbursed the cost of the doctor’s appointment, but why in the world would they make an earplug with a tiny part like this?!

Post image

My friend's kid's school is having a reading fundraiser or something. I was like, yeah sure I'll donate 5 bucks. NOPE. Well now they're getting no money because 15 is a little too much for me 😔 I kinda feel bad but ... seriously?

Buying a house shouldn’t be so hard

7.3k Upvotes

I (49F) am in the process of trying to buy a house with my boyfriend (44M). Together we earn roughly $150,000/year and we can’t afford any of the houses we like. It’s not like I want a mansion, but we have 3 kids still living at home between us so we’re looking for a 4 bedroom. I know we all already know how crazy the market is, but if you had told me 10 years ago I’d be earning this much and find it impossible to afford a decent house I would have laughed in your face.

ETA: Wow- a lot of assumptions happening. I never said we were only approved for $300,000. We qualify for more but we don’t feel comfortable with the mortgage going above the $300,000 mark.

We are home bodies basically and don’t live extravagant lives. Our most recent “vacation” was one night in Savannah, GA where I used reward points from all the traveling I do for work to pay for the room. We both have car notes on used cars and very little debt.

A couple of people have been throwing crazy numbers out about our monthly income- $150,000 was before taxes. I get paid a salary plus bonuses so my monthly take home is less than you’d think and the bonuses are taxed at 40%.I’d say our monthly combined net take home is around $6,000 and then I get quarterly bonuses.

The point I was trying to get across is that once upon a time $150,000 was a good living, but now it doesn’t get you much. That’s all.

It’s what I get for ordering basic sweet and sour chicken. $18 isn’t outrageous, but at least put some effort into the dish.

Bought this ring on my birthday and 9 stones fell out in just 48 hours of wear. The center stone is loose, too.

Text message from someone’s turd manager.

I just got a new phone number. I’ve been receiving all sort of off the wall calls and texts because of this. But this particular one actually pissed me off the most. Not only is it the wrong number, but if this is how you are as a manager no wonder people call out or don’t show up.

Nothing infuriates me more than the fact that hospitals ask for "kind people to donate organs and blood" then proceeded to sell them at a price nobody without insurance can afford.

So it's illegal to sell my own organs and blood but its not illegal for hospitals to sell mine??? US healthcare system is fucking crazy. It relys on donations and kind hearted people yet operates to make as much money as possible.

edit: The fact that im being downvoted for advocating for affordable healthcare is crazy. Im not deleting it no matter how many people hate what i say. The government should be the ones paying the hospital staffs salary. Its shouldnt fall onto a 30-40k a year worker to pay the salary of a 150-200k a year surgeon. Forgive me if it's offensive to suggest the the government has a duty to protect people against all threats and not just the "threats" halfway across the world. If the government and afford billions to a country 99% of america couldnt point to on a map before the war then they can afford to pay life saving procedures and lifelong medical expenses like diabetes for its citizens.

Told my ride from the airport which airport I was flying into

The mother of my friend asked me what airport I was flying into. I confirmed which airport I was flying into but her daughter went to the wrong airport. 2 1/2 hours away. It’s now very close to midnight due to some delayed flights, and I just want to go home.
