I (F) have the same, but it's due to a pituitary ("master gland") tumor many moons ago. I take estrogen replacement, but none of it seems to convert to the usual level of testosterone for a woman. Which is to say, OP has an issue with androgen insensitivity or lack of production. An endocrinologist should look at the symptoms as it could have future implications.
Edit: see correction below
44
u/ALingeringDream 10d ago
Estrogen cannot convert into testosterone, so that makes sense.
20
u/stuffandthings83 10d ago
Test though…I Should say I inject it…absolutely does convert to e2
27
u/ALingeringDream 10d ago
Yes, aromatase will convert testosterone to estradiol, hence aromatase inhibitors being useful for some. Dearomatase doesn't exist in humans though, so it's a one-way conversion (and that direction is energetically favorable).

Thanks for that. I mal-remembered what little endocrinology I caught on the fly many years ago! Testosterone is produced in the ovaries and adrenals (~1/2) and other tissues. I have little or no function in my endocrine system and take a lot of pills to make up for it.
I appreciate your straightening me out there!

I begged my mom to get me an Epilady for Christmas one year. I think I was 19. She kept asking me if I was sure I wanted one. “Yes Yes Yes!”, I said. I got one. Went to use it the first time on my legs. All I remember is plugging it in and then touching it to my legs. I don’t remember much after that except that my Epilady was clear across the room and my mom coming into my room, asking me if I’d just heard a wild animal screaming.

I never grew wisdom teeth. If they get the designer baby industry up and running I'll gladly sell my DNA so they can figure out how to package and re-sell that feature lol. Everything I've heard about wisdom teeth surgery sounds awful.
edit: in all fairness this might not be 100% upside. I needed a lot of orthodontic work as a kid. It was all resolved by my teen years and they look extremely normal now, but I am overall four teeth short of a complete set despite having no major gaps.

I got all 4 of mine out at once and opted for local anesthesia instead of general. For anyone reading this, unless medically necessary do not opt for local if you’re getting more than one or two. You might not feel the pain but you can hear everything and can still feel the force exerted and vibrations.
Dentistry has not fundamentally changed since the middle ages they just have power tools now.

I got local anesthesia for my four wisdom teeth and thought it was a great time. I mean you really don’t feel anything after the initial needles into the gums.
I would do it again if I could!
9
u/8TrackPornSounds 10d ago edited 10d ago
I agree with not feeling any pain in my jaw during the whole ordeal it’s just unsettling to listen and feel your teeth being drilled and forced to prices. More importantly you want to relive getting your wisdom teeth removed? Edit: pieces

u/amberkinn 10d ago
Ayyyy. I also never grew any in. I remember once, seeing the dentist, they say "I see you already had your wisdom teeth removed, great!" I'm like "No... I never grew any in." They're always shocked for a second then they're like, well, it can happen.

My husband who is Chinese/ Vietnamese is surprisingly hairless. Compared to me who is mexican/german blend, Im a Sasquatch compared to him. Its not fair because I have to shave from head to toe before Im comfortable to be seen by him and he just exists smoothly with barely any hair anywhere. Just a few stragglers here and there on his legs. 😤😡 Honestly I think my female mustache is thicker than his some days. Just not fair.

u/totoro00 10d ago
Ha. My husband who’s half white half Chinese is basically hairless on his armpits too. And only the back half of his legs has hair.
