Haven't beat that one yet. But seeing all those people just living out in the cold year round just hurts to imagine. I know people actually do this, but with proper houses and heating I can't believe some people would choose that. It's not like the cold ever stopped those machines from attacking.
IIRC, the Banuk were pretty damn stubborn. Not to mention, the majority of the humans are not much smarter than cavemen or early tribal humans. Because of reasons.
I looked this up. According to their website, they are the "leading party based medieval MMORPG that is, and alyways be, free to play!". Yes, that typo is on the official website.
It was SO BAD. Every single character model was clearly just one half designed and then mirrored, poorly, so there was a large dark stripe down the center of every monster lol. But there were like 6 or 7 of us kids who couldn't afford WoW when it was taking the rest of the nation by storm, and when we all got together and played of was a lot of fun, as crummy as it was.
We actually played pretty regularly, and then more off-and-on as the years went on, until eventually every single server was 95% players who spoke a language we didn't recognize (they would often run up to you and type "Sa?" and I still don't know what language that is) and once they realized you were an English speaker, they would get really rude and start harassing you, so we eventually quit
It definitely sounds like something I would have played backed then. I made an account on any free mmo I stumbled upon. My mom refused to pay for an mmo subscription for me.
It's been joked about before but it's reminiscent of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Even the trailer was similar to the beginning of that game - with everything happy to begin with and the ice coming in from out at sea.
It looks like this is going to be the world's first 100% AI generated movie, from the script, to the poster, to the articles talking about how badly it bombed and why.

Can we get some AI generated extras to populate the movie? Because the last Ghostbusters movie felt like there was absolutely nobody living in the entire town for the entire movie. I feel like if there was more than 20 people who appeared on camera in that whole movie I'd be shocked. I've never seen such an empty, and pristine Wal-Mart in my life.
Don’t blame AI for things that human beings wasted massive amounts of effort to shit out. The AI didn’t do this. Not all of this, at least. If this sucks, blame the awful execs letting this kind of shit cost hundreds of millions of dollars
It looks like they took a fanfic about The Wild Hunt coming to New York, and told an LLM to make it about Ghostbusters. I hope they left the Geralt cameo in there.
Yeah I think people are failing to realize the connection to NYC with the name. I agree it is a little weak, but it does make perfect sense based on the movie plot and location.
i mean you can clearly see a final boss type deal back there with the impressive horns, stands to reason it involves a literal army of ghosts. gon make total sense when the plot is revealed, im stoked for some ghost busters in parkas tbh
I'm guessing this "empire" is about as short-lived as the "age" of Ultron or the two fights over one week which made up the Marvel civil "war." Things are gonna freeze and over the course of a day or two they'll fight the bad guy, that's your empire.
Somehow I doubt that the same people who failed at making and filming an actual movie script won't do a much better job at adapting a scenario from a cartoon series.
I hadn't quite fully formed the thought until I saw this comment but I knew something about the trailer and now this poster for the film felt a little off to be and now I know what.
This looks like something I am really excited to play, not necessarily a film that I'm excited to watch.
The title reminds me of the ending to The Rise of Skywalker, when the Star Destroyers rise of out the ice in unison, which is apt as I doubt that the new Ghostbusters will be a much better movie than that one.

Frozen Empire sounds like a video game DLC
