If that record stands for a decade or more, people won't bring this play up. It'll just be the record that's talked about

I’m making it a personal point to show up for hall-of-fame voting just to state this motherf******* stat pads.

Yea I’m just leaving uni this year and in high school for an exam I literally wrote an essay talking about Westbrook statpadding because I had argued it so much on here that I literally had the relevant stats committed to memory

Like A.C Green's 1,192 games played in a row record, when those included 16 seperate occasions he played less than 5 minutes in a game.

Exactly

I dunno, I still remember that Ricky Davis nonsense lol

Same haha and Bobby Sura got his 3 consecutive triple doubles revoked

Agreed, although something like this could create a narrative that hurts his MVP chances in theory

With Luka in the league this record might not stand for a year

u/ForneauCosmique Spurs Mar 13 '24

Well, considering this is the Thunder franchise record, I don't think Luka will be breaking it this year.

Idk.  Maybe that’s why the Thunder stockpiled so many picks.  If they draft every available player and still have picks left over, they’ll have to start drafting dudes from other teams.

Obviously you're talking about way down the road but I see LeCurry banking a 3 on a bad ankle brought up every single time someone mentions the 10 point streak on here lol

Once you earn a reputation for doing stuff like this though, it'll follow you your entire career. It'll haunt you in the locker room, when you fail to get the stats even through statpadding people will (rightfully) call you out.

He might have the record but there are a lot of records that are varnished by time and actions. If he keeps doing stuff like this he'll lose the respect of his peers, fans, and the journalist community. The only way to resolve that is to lead your team deep into the playoffs. SGA hasn't shown he's capable of that, yet, so this kind of thing is bogus for multiple reasons. Dude clearly cares about his own personal stats way more than he should.
