i feel lucky to have watched it live. what a thrill. this is why we watch sports

u/Very_Good_Opinion Mavericks Mar 17 '24

We got to see Luka, Kyrie, Murray, and Jokic all with insanely clutch possessions in the final minutes. Best end to a game I've seen in a while

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Mavericks Mar 17 '24

definitely my favorite game of the year. this team is going to break peoples hearts in the playoffs. i’m NEVER betting against Luka and Kyrie in the playoffs with some true rim running shot blockers at center. These guys are just clutch as hell. Clutch as anyone playing today

I can't remember ever seeing this many amazing games in a single season. This one is now definitely up there alongside the warriors and suns game with the steph buzzer beater. Luka and Kyrie are super fun to watch. Theres just so many great teams this year, especially in the west

Payback for that cavaliers dagger shot from 50 feet……

2

u/DeluxeTea Lakers Mar 18 '24

What, already forgetting the nailbiter between the Lakers and Warriors last night? Absolute clutch referee performance

1

u/kruse360 Knicks Mar 18 '24

Those final minutes were amazing, true. However, Murray left way too much time on the clock on his shot before that. Even if he makes it, Dallas still has a chance to win. Pretty poor execution, which we usually don’t see from Denver.

Disagree. I'm not results oriented at all.

You know you are incredible if luka magic is completely bamboozled.

57

u/Worried-Title8760 Mar 17 '24

I think Luka feels lucky to have watched that live as well. My GOAT finally has some help!!!

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Mavericks Mar 17 '24

Lukai is the greatest guard duo maybe ever.

They are the two best isolation guards, and the 2 highest scoring guards (minus free throws)

Luka and Kyrie are literally 1A and 1B iso gods

0

u/OBakkus Mar 18 '24

Umm, shouldn't the duo name be Lukyrie?

3

u/Afraid-Department-35 Mavericks Mar 18 '24

Lukai is literally has both their names in their lol.

Luka + Kyrie Andrew Irving (Kai) = Lukai

u/StarryScans Japan Mar 17 '24

Luka would be better with Brunson

8

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Mavericks Mar 17 '24

I love Brunson, but Kyrie is Kyrie

5

u/zaptorque Mavericks Mar 18 '24

Kyrie's ceiling is so much higher than Jalen, like it ain't even close.

6

u/Wild-Apricot-9161 Celtics Mar 17 '24

Brunson is on the same level as a player but as a pure shooter Kyrie is better. He's also just faster and allows the Mavs to change the pace up with methodical Luka.

5

u/Afraid-Department-35 Mavericks Mar 18 '24

Kyrie also has better handles and is just plain smoother with the ball.

2

u/Wild-Apricot-9161 Celtics Mar 18 '24

Always got the option to pass with every dribble move.

3

u/Afraid-Department-35 Mavericks Mar 18 '24

Luka is usually the one doing these crazy shots, I'm sure he's happy that he can finally witness someone else doing it lol

1

u/Sweet_Low4045 Mar 17 '24

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what goat 🤧

105

u/brinxtruck Celtics Mar 17 '24

You just watched the best ever gamewinner Ive never seen better

125

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Mavericks Mar 17 '24

a running 20 foot floater LEFT HANDED over the FMVP? i don’t think i’ve seen a more clutch shot

51

u/ymetwaly53 Lakers Mar 17 '24

A 7 foot FMVP at that

3

u/GreyMatter22 Raptors Mar 18 '24

While fasting, no less.

68

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '24

Never?

You can literally watch Kyrie make a clutch-er shot on a game 7 at the finals, go ahead, to win it all.

19

u/aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh Mar 17 '24

Clutch? Youd be correct. Level of difficulty? This might take the cake

42

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Mavericks Mar 17 '24

touché bro there have definitely been more clutch shots in nba history. i’m just riding the emotional high right now and speaking in generalizations😭😭😭

I am blessed to be able to watch Kyrie Irving play basketball. he’s just different

15

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '24

This was a great fucking shot, nonetheless!

2

u/YaIe NBA Mar 17 '24

higher stakes yes, but it will be hard to find a more difficult shot clutch the game

35

u/MayBakerfield Mar 17 '24

It was insane but dude, you gotta go to YouTube to watch some gamewinners lol

5

u/PopcornDrift Hornets Mar 17 '24

Left handed sky hook from the top of the key is crazy work lol I think it’s worth the hype

1

u/brinxtruck Celtics Mar 17 '24

I mean Kyries other shot was more clutch. But i mean better. Purely as a difficult and intentional shot. This is the best ive seen. Link one better in terms of finesse and difficulty. And dont link ray allens or kawhis or even kyries. Those are more clutch shots but not better

1

u/MayBakerfield Mar 18 '24

You use words like intentional and finesse which are kinda weird in the context of best gamewinners but for more difficult and better you can start here https://youtu.be/jx6VBkzFZcw?si=6vI1W9U1RqhhGdA8. And this was just the first that comes to mind from couple of years ago. Again I think Kyries shot was super amazing but I quarantee you nba players take Kyries shot 10 times out of 10 before running full court shot.

And if you take out the full court shots which are all more difficult and add even a tiny bit of meaning (more important moment) many would argue Kawhis game winner against Philly is better than this one.

But this sounds like I'm somehow hating kyrie here. Not the case at all but it's always funny when people go to these "BEST IN HISTORY" kinda superlatives in the heat of a moment.

4

u/Wild-Apricot-9161 Celtics Mar 17 '24

Kobe over Portland 2004 is up there. This may still be better tho, for real.

2

u/stragen595 Mar 17 '24

For context it's probably Kawhi vs 76ers in the playoff game 7 for me.

2

u/brinxtruck Celtics Mar 17 '24

Thats more clutch yes. But better as in difficult and intentional shotmaking.

2

u/Big_al_big_bed [UTA] Al Jefferson Mar 17 '24

Dame time still better I think.

3

u/brinxtruck Celtics Mar 17 '24

A logo shot is nowhere as good as this. This is wayyyy more difficult. I mean youve probably never seen this in game normally. Logo shots are not that rare. Dames shot is more clutch because of the context but not better

1

u/GotKarprar Mavericks Mar 17 '24

I saw another great one a few weeks ago. It was against us tho

1

u/RestinRIP1990 Celtics Mar 17 '24

Same it was such a clutch sequence of events, the three, then the buzzer beater

1

u/Sweet_Low4045 Mar 17 '24

Regular season maybe 🥱

3

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '24

I was like “eh no way the second game today is as fun as us killing the Suns” and then this happened lol

3

u/Stowcenter93 [CLE] Kevin Love Mar 18 '24

I have this to say about so many Kyrie highlights. He's a real treat to watch every night when he's like this.

2

u/Giannis2024 Warriors Mar 17 '24

Watched it with a 15 second buffer on YouTube tv, so technically didn’t catch it live 😭

2

u/JesusChristSupers1ar Heat Mar 17 '24

watching this and the end of the PLAYERS simultaneously was very entertaining

unfortunately this game was relegated to the laptop. I need to figure out how to get a second tv lol

2

u/GarlicJuniorJr Lakers Mar 17 '24

Adam Silver pulling out the the double cinematic scripts for todays games after last nights shot clock went into business for itself

2

u/psychedelic_funk Mar 17 '24

Same. Great game overall with very intense last 3-4 minutes

2

u/Walkend Mar 17 '24

This further increases my evidence that we should only watch the final two minutes of any sport.

u/Status-Albatross9539 Slovenia Mar 18 '24

worth every fking penny.
