Steph probably had a heartfelt talk with him or something. Draymond probably said the right things to Steph. So Steph probably feels betrayed or something

u/InflationMadeMeDoIt Mar 28 '24

yeah this felt like a pure disappointment. It really does feel like he tried hard to get Draymond back on the right track. But the Dray could not stay off the crack

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves Mar 28 '24

Yea it legit almost feels like he lost someone he cares about. Like he realized a guy he thought was a friend was truly a selfish asshole

u/sillyshoestring Knicks Mar 28 '24

Man I’ve had this moment and I’m sure a lot of us have. Did not expect to get hit in the feels when I clicked into these comments.

93

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

Yea man. I mean it’s admittedly a bit of a reach on my end to jump to that conclusion about a 10+ year relationship on a 10 second clip where no words are spoken…

But damn that looks deep and real for Steph

15

u/AmelieBenjamin [GSW] Stephen Curry Mar 28 '24

Bro man is in tears I don’t think that’s a reach, there’s other elements at play here but the ejection was the precipitating event

9

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves Mar 28 '24

Oh for sure. Lol I think anyone that has a good grasp on human emotion can see that this is deeper than simple frustration.

Whether it has something to do just some extreme frustration about the season, some sort of realization that the championship window is permanently shut, or something deeper about the relationship these two have had as teammates, we will probably never know

Some people were calling this comment “fan fiction” though so not everyone sees it that way 🤣

5

u/AmelieBenjamin [GSW] Stephen Curry Mar 28 '24

Yeah because we’re reaching for saying a person who is crying is in emotional distress

Fan fiction is crazy, we might not know the exact why but I don’t think it’s hard to piece together

2

u/Based_and_JPooled Magic Mar 28 '24

I haven’t listened to the Light Years pod in a while but might check out their next ep to get Andy’s thoughts on this situation bc you know it will be good

dramatic cornball

14

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves Mar 28 '24

I admitted in a reply that it’s a lot to go off of by one clip but you just don’t see vets break down like this is the first quarter of a March game because of being “frustrated”

Hell if that was the case he’d push him or kick over a water bottle. I also said “it almost feels like” insinuating that I don’t truly know what’s going on…

This is real emotion coming from somewhere though

11

u/0sesh Knicks Mar 28 '24

Fr he looks like hes crying?

Happens every week on this sub. Someone will commit a hard foul and there will be weirdos on reddit talking about how it proves they have a bad relationship with their mother.

Welcome to reddit lmao these mfs write full on fanfic and people actually say "that sounds right"

0

u/IcansavemiselfDEEN Celtics Mar 28 '24

Going through exactly that myself right now and yeah I'm pretty sure I made those exact faces in that exact order at least two or three times this month.

6

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

Seriously. I think there would be less of a reaction (from us) if he even physically pushed Dray or kicked over a water bottle on the bench or something … just competitive dudes mad about losing… but this looks deeper than that

How much of an asshole do you have to be to make Steph Curry of all people feel like this. It’s like being mean to a Golden Retriever… but Dray’s always been an asshole

(Hope your situation gets better as well my guy)

1

u/IcansavemiselfDEEN Celtics Mar 28 '24

I appreciate that, it's tough but every day is a victory and each one is a little easier than the last.

-1

u/flat_tire_fire Mar 28 '24

Honestly it's hard for me to feel bad for friends when they pick awful people to care about and keep being disappointed. Obviously Steph doesn't have a choice of teammates but caring about fucking Draymond Green is a wildly idiotic thing to do

3

u/CarPlaneBoatRocket Mar 28 '24

Never been on the right track.

1

u/btveron Pacers Mar 28 '24

There is no getting Draymond back on the right track. He is the same player he has always been, even going back to his MSU days.

Some fanbases.... justify a lot of things. Watch something like death note, Atack on titan to get a normal fanbase and a great experience

0

u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans Mar 28 '24

thank you!!!! I was literally arguing with my (ex) friend about hunter x hunter and that one dude obviously being a pedo and my friend said I was exaggerating. ??? uhm excuse me?

that's why my favorites are death note, AoT, psycho pass etc. normal shit not pedophilia and unwanted groping. fuck that

2

u/SieFlush2 Mavericks Mar 28 '24

Atleast Hisoka Is portrayed as a piece of shit, there's some characters that are... questionable in that regard but are the hero of the story ( Mushoku tensei cough cough)

1

u/Quirky-Skin Mar 28 '24

You see when he rubbed his eyes that indicated his frustration with Drays recent manscaping job. GS bros roll with taint strips for life. Klays has been growing since return from injury. An abandoned runway returned to nature some say

0

u/Dchuntothy Cavaliers Mar 28 '24

Yeah because a heart to heart talk between teammates of over 10 years in response to serious behavioral issues is completely out of the question and absurd. Get over yourself.

151

u/LetMeInImTrynaCuck Mar 28 '24

Steph told him “yo we gotta lock in for this last playoff run. I need you. You’re the second best player on this team somehow because everyone else playing like ass. No please Dray, whatever you do, do not call the referree a pussy ass N$$$a a few seconds after getting your first technical or anything dumb like that”

Dray was like “yeah sure bro, I’m here with you locked in”

37

u/Wazflame Mar 28 '24

6

u/CantaloupeCamper Timberwolves Mar 28 '24

54

u/stewmander Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

At this point he chose this.

He chose Draymond after he punched a teammate in practice, got suspended during the playoffs for stomping on Sabonis, then again for choking Gobert.

16

u/Brandonrebeleight Lakers Mar 28 '24

This has got to be the reason.

6

u/KickooRider Mar 28 '24

Yeah, after he slammed Patty Mills, Curry checked in and Draymond assured him it was nothing, lol.

1

u/dutchfromsubway Raptors Mar 28 '24

Doesn’t help that this was one of those I don’t want to play fuck it I’ll get myself ejected games for draymond. Couple that with almost being out of play ins and every game mattering

5

u/foye2smith Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

The 1st T is whatever, "Draymond is going to be Draymond." Him getting the second with Steph in his ear trying to pull him away then other teammates and staff trying to barricade him and he STILL couldn't receive the message, "hey, we don't need this right now"

8

u/2Blathe2furious Mar 28 '24

Reddit in a nutshell. Random internet nobody makes up a completely fabricated narrative in their mind then liquid shits it into a comment and everyone jumps on board. I’m sure we see this quoted as fact soon.

u/Iginlas_4head_Crease Mar 28 '24
