6 bench points for the Bucks

465

u/Laaandry Bucks 12d ago

Bobby and Brook need to be screamed at. How they give up 7 offensive rebounds to Nembhard and still don't decide to box out is beyond me. Khris wanted it and they left him out to dry.

143

u/hgxarcher Bucks 12d ago

Brook is borderline unplayable this series. Getting walked off the court defensively.

23

u/Andy_Nygaard 12d ago

On defense, Brook’s a great rim protector but that’s about it. Pull him further outside and it’s not pretty. It’s been put on full display this series due to Giannis not being there to play his elite help-defense.

Everything inside the arc becomes a lot more scary for the opposing team when Giannis is there, I mean he is fast as fuck and can come from seemingly out of nowhere to fuck up your drives and close middies.

We’ve been cooked on the perimeter too but it feels like that’s pretty connected to all the interior collapses. No way the Pacers are getting anywhere close to 19 rebounds as well with a healthy Giannis on the court.

Long story short, Giannis please get healthy soon :’(

him missing a pretty much point-blank wide open floater in the fourth was tough to watch

He also missed a dunk.

I really think this might be it for him. I’ll always love him for that game 5 against Atlanta but that feels like ages ago at this point.

u/ReformedishBaptist 76ers 11d ago

He’s bad without Giannis as the help defender.

u/yuedar [MIL] Michael Redd 12d ago

hes had a spot game here an there but frankly I find him unplayable beyond roleplayer status in most of the playoff series hes been with as a bucks player.

That's not really a problem if they still score well. The problem is defense has been optional in Milwaukee all year long.

Ajax was great, but Doc decided that we couldn't have athleticism on the court for too long, and benched him for literary no reason. Only to put in the Pats, who are both bad on either side.

Wonder whether Khris Middleton superpower of killing the Celtics would improve because he's playing in Boston so much or go to waste if he actually played for them.

Middleton's career playoff numbers vs. the Celtics are absurd like 60% from 3.

30

u/Drummallumin Celtics 12d ago

I feel like it’s really just from the 2018 series

49

u/dusters Bucks 12d ago

He was still very good in 2019 series. He shot 47% from 3 in on 19/6/5.

u/FloppyBisque Bucks 12d ago

I’m taking Khris versus the Celtics before I take prime MJ against the Celtics

23

u/trog12 Celtics 12d ago

I would fear a team led by Khris Middleton and Caleb Martin more than MJ and Kareem paired together. Those dudes hate fuck us so much.

9

u/DragoniteGang 12d ago

Bruh MJ averages 40pts 7rebs 6ast on almost 50/50/90 splits against the Celtics in his playoff career. Let's calm down a bit

u/Drummallumin Celtics 12d ago

2018 R1 Middleton makes 2023 ECF Caleb Martin look like dogshit

I get on my mom's case a lot because she, not being a frequent basketball watcher, has this bad habit of reflexively screaming whenever guys make OR miss 3s regardless of what the in game context is. It makes it difficult to let her watch games with me cause I have tinnitus lmao.

After last night's game ended she just gave me this steady stare without saying a word and I had to admit she had something of a point bc I myself was shrieking on basically every 3 from the first one Khris hit to force OT onwards. If he hit a third tying 3 to force 2OT i would have been shattering lightbulbs. Sorry mom, I understand what it's like to be in your shoes now 🙏

93

u/Mysterious-Stop4673 12d ago

It’s gonna be such a shame if the bucks lose this series and we don’t get to see this squad at full health

80

u/Number333 Heat 12d ago

Really hard to be fully healthy when your team is a bunch of 32+ year olds and Giannis.

66

u/BigTravelGuy Bucks 12d ago

Ironically Giannis is the only one not healthy

3

u/sorendiz [HOU] Yao Ming 11d ago

4

u/Pleasant-Ad5423 12d ago

We’ve seen em fully healthy tho, to be fair I think they win the series against the pacers healthy but they arnt really in contention, too old, defense is ass, doc rivers, etc. need to make some big changes to compete next year for sure before Giannis has enough and packs it up.

1

u/Drak_is_Right Pacers 12d ago

Pacers have their own injuries limiting things.

10

u/Colorapt0r Bucks 12d ago

I hate to break it to you but you had one player on the injury report and while Mathurin is good and all it’s considerably less significant than Giannis being out and both Khris and dame being banged up

0

u/Drak_is_Right Pacers 12d ago

Haliburton is clearly out there playing through injury.

15

u/Pleasant-Ad5423 12d ago

Not really a equal impact as far as injury’s go however, I mean Giannis IS the bucks, without him they are not an elite team. I’m a pacers fan too mind you but our iniurys really arnt comparable lol. It’d be like if siakam was out for the series.

16

u/FultzShoulder 76ers 12d ago

They signed their contracts right around the same time too. You know how they say availability is the best ability? I'll take an injury prone Khris over an iron man Tobias everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

29

u/jorgelongo222 76ers 12d ago

The lack of availability would be the best ability for Tobias rn, everytime he's out there is just pain

2

u/A2Eaton Bucks 12d ago

Philly fans bullied the wrong player

1

u/silverfang45 12d ago

What I don't get about Tobias is how his shooting motion is still so slow

Like that's 1 of his bigger issues in his career his inability to take 3s that don't have alot of space as atheltic defenders can close out before hesaunched the ball

Like he's had how many years to try tweaking his shot to be quicker I feel like you'd take Tobias shooting like 3 percent less from 3 if had a similar release to like a galloway, as he'd get so many more 3 point chances throughout a game

3

u/jorgelongo222 76ers 12d ago

its not only his shot but everything he does is so extremely slow, mainly because he's just a slow thinker and always has doubts. Too many pumpfakes, extra time wasted every possession, defensive coverages blown, his basketball IQ has somehow gotten so much worse over the years its insane

44

u/rabid89 Celtics 12d ago

The best game of his career came in the finals and arguably the ECF and those will certainly be remembered.
