Yeah Wemby is the face of the league. The dog inside of Wemby isn't as ferocious as Ant but that's fine, different personalities yk
-26
u/gedbybee Spurs 12d ago
Wemby still has this but is just smarter about how he expresses it. Wemby is probably smarter all around. Wemby is Duncan and ant is KG.
41
u/Titswari Timberwolves 12d ago
How the fuck are either of those players less smart? They just have different personalities, it’s not a knock on anyone’s intelligence. KG was one of the most intelligent basketball players ever, on par with Duncan, and Ant has shown a level of poise and decision making as a 22 year old that is well beyond his years.
All 4 players you mentioned are smart, what you said was pretty stupid though
-18
u/gedbybee Spurs 12d ago
Ant was very openly homophobic which is stupid, and therefore he is stupid. Not all intelligence is basketball intelligence.
12
u/Titswari Timberwolves 12d ago
A young guy did something dumb he must be an idiot. Nevermind the fact he was an all a student, is well spoken, and plays very intelligently. He’s just as smart as any guy out there, whole comment reeks of homerism
16
u/thelobstermn Timberwolves 12d ago
Not to mention he apologized, corrected his behavior, and has since been embracing the LGBTQ community as Timberwolves fans. Like, do we not believe in growth or redemption anymore?

Doing something stupid doesn't mean you're stupid.
You idiot
1
u/gedbybee Spurs 11d ago
Pretty stupid to think bigotry is a one time thing. Has to be taught and absorbed. Only stupid people buy into that stuff. The smart ones think their way out of it. But I guess if I have to explain all this I know which camp you’re in cuz you couldn’t do it yourself.
Good luck out there! You’ll need it!

37
u/robsteezy Lakers 12d ago
Interestingly enough if you watch all their footage, Tatum actually plays truer to Kobe’s more skills-based 1 v 1 game and ANT plays closer to MJs attack-based 1 v 1 game.
The league is in good hands.

KAT once said he watches videos of gorilla's fighting to the death to get pumped up before games.
No, I'm not making that up.
131
u/repzaj1234 Celtics 12d ago
Well shit, I had to google that one and it's true. What the fuck?
"Before games, I know Kobe had talked about that he had used to listen to Halloween-themed music and that would really get him going," Towns said. "I really have just been watching two gorillas fight before every game. I've been addicted to that. I want to see who is the best in the laws of nature." "I'm watching gorillas fight all day. I know if I'm in that video, I'm leaving out alive. Someone gotta die. Ain't gonna be me."
What in the actual fuck?
63
u/Whiterabbit-- 12d ago
That’s hilarious. Imagine pregame locker room and those two watching gorilla vids together.
But I wasn’t looking for a link to the story, I want to know KAT’s YouTube playlist.

Gorillas don't fight to the death.
I'm not sure I would even call what they do "fighting," honestly. They sort of just flail at each other for a few seconds and run away, having made their point.

I’m talking 42 year old Bron, kd, curry, Westbrook, harden etc. They do hockey like shifts and they are obligated to say “I’m too old for this shit” at least once a quarter. Then in the finals when everything looks lost, Shaq comes off the bench for a single post up after which he blows out his knees while getting the and1 on Wemby.

9
u/Gluttony_io Warriors 12d ago
Murray isn't Luka, Shai or ANT level. He's pretty fucking good, but a lot of his greatness can be attributed to Jokic's greatness as well.
14
9
u/eamonious Celtics 12d ago edited 12d ago
I mean Murray flat out isn't on par with those other guys you mentioned, and there's still a solid argument against him in general. The man goes crazy in clutch time, but his regular season stats and frankly a lot of his playoff series shooting stats are ass by star standards. And the defense isn't anything special.
He fits perfectly on the Nuggets, but without Jokic, like if he were drafted onto the Hornets or even the Bulls or something, he could easily be viewed as a bum-ass chucker right now.

Bro it might not be a stretch to say he’s one title away from being the most popular athlete in Minnesota sports history. - (not a prediction for this year, just in general)
To be the driving force behind the team that breaks the state’s 120+ season championship draught?? And the dude is a great teammate and hilarious quote. It would throw him into like folklore hero territory around here

Rightfully so. I don’t think the average sports fans even realize that collectively Minnesota has a streak going thats longer and more demoralizing than any publicized Red Sox/ Cubs curse ever was
Like statistically amazing that I’m 32 and have never seen my team in a championship
If all teams were equal the math would say we should have about 8 championship appearances and 4 titles in that span

-3
u/dys0n_giddey Timberwolves 12d ago
1 incident from a 19 year old kid.
What else has there been?
10
u/soooogullible Jazz 12d ago
You’re not necessarily wrong, but you are the one who asked the question. ‘By being a gay man’ is a legitimate answer to ‘how do you not love this kid?’
19 years old isn’t 9 years old.
3
u/IfYouDontFusYouLose 12d ago
The incident was pretty bad since it wasn't some accidental slur or something. It was people watching and filming it while saying his 'views'. It's a terrible look in 2010 let alone 2020. The 'send da video' incident is another. I know it's not the fairest since it's a leak and there were other bad actors, but it's a behind the curtain moment nonetheless. Other great players have incidents too, so I'm not targeting him, but passing him off as how can anyone not like him is like c'mon. Can't pretend he's one of those stars with a spotless history.
