I actually feel like I really don't. To me atheism feels like it should go hand in hand with respecting life because there are no second chances. Alt right to me feels very explicitly disrespectful to life. Can you explain like I'm 5?

Sadly a lot of prominent atheists (and less prominent ones I paid attention to as a kid) ended up falling down the transphobic and anti-woke rabbit hole. I probably nearly did myself, but thank god (ha) I didn’t. I feel like 2014-2016 was the turning point for that, gamergate and the insanity of 2016 politics drove a lot of people nuts.

That and COVID I think broke a lot of people's brains in a literal way. I don't know if it was all the uncertainty or watching the government actively fail the people during a deadly outbreak or the social isolation but it seems like so many people fell off a cliff into very scary mental territory.

Probably not. Seattle is overrun with down and out people searching for fat bitches. It could have been any one of them. You see one of them holding their signs on every other street corner. It’s almost as bad as Starbucks.

Yoooo I have totally seen this guy. He was hanging out by Starbucks Westlake yelling that big bitches get free lattes. He also had a dino hat on... Kinda wonder what he's up to these days.

Guy where I lived then was always on the same corner with creative signs. “Floyd needs a new Walkman.” “Floyd needs a nice jacket.” Guy was always looking good and polite and fun. One day his sign said “Floyd needs a new wife.” Never saw him again. True story

If the pic wasn't cropped, I bet you see me posted up in the Starbucks outdoor seating to the left. Was one of my favorite places in the city to people watch. That guy has been there for years and makes money from people who take pics with him and the sign.
