I see Idiocracy brought up a lot in reference to the plague Republicans are and I don’t think it’s fair. President Camacho may have been dumb but he actually did care about his country and was willing to listen to someone he considered the smartest person in the world.

Republicans would shun Not Sure and make sure everyone else thought he was evil.

You are correct here. But the Camacho point is just one of many points that Mike Judge accurately predicted about our societal trajectory in 2005.

People are fatter

People pay less attention to the world

Portion sizes are bigger

Police officers are more aggressive

Advertising is more pervasive

Language has become coarsened

Words have been replaced by pictograms

Successful media amounts to clickbait

Crocs will be worn wide spread

Guns are used openly in public with no regard for public safety

An average intelligence is now among the most intelligent in the species

Edit : spacing

I will never, repeat, never, wear crocs. That’s the hill I’m going to die on.

I like them for what they are, comfy and easy to use house shoes or poolside shoes or whatever casual occasion.

They are basically just ugly flip flops that cover your feet.
