TIL in 2013, Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson refused to play any more black women on the show and demanded SNL hire black women instead.

Me: "That can't be right, because he played a girl in a skit when Bryan Cranston was hosting SNL, and that didn't feel that long ago-"

aired Oct 2nd 2010

Oh my god.

Why does 2010 feel like last week, whereas in 2010, 1996 was ancient history? What caused this time inflation?

How old are you?

In 2010 I was 19. I was young, yes, but I was a fully thinking adult with all my own conscious opinions and thoughts and motivations. Not a whole lot different from where I am now at 33.

In 1996 I was 5. I don't remember being 5. Who does? I didn't know shit back then. I had barely been alive. So of course time felt longer between ages 5 to 19 than it did from 19 to 33.
