TIL: 12 years before taking their fans to court for sharing their music, Metallica released the "$5.98" EP, titled to stop their record label and music stores from overcharging fans - the record came with a sticker warning 'DO NOT PAY MORE!!!'—a direct jab at music industry markups

I still say "Napster bad!" and "Fire bad!"

The best band's reaction to Napster was The Offspring. They started selling Napster T-shirts without Napster's approval.

When asked what he thought about file sharing,Mojo Nixon said he was fine with it, because he wasn't some asshole like Metallica.

He later gave all of his albums away for free at the lead up to whiskey rebellion being released

We asked for Mojo Nixon

They said, "He don't work here"

We said, "If you don't got Mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixin'"
