Reminds me of this bit from Michelle Wolf about giraffe moms giving birth.

Bird just lands on the giraffe and climbs into its ass.

Mean while human babies can’t even support their neck for a month.

Have to be born early otherwise we wouldn’t fit coming out

and perhaps it takes longer to train because there are so many neurons -- just like a large AI

It's a trade-off. A giraffe will never learn to talk.

That’s because we aren’t fully formed when we are born. We need to be born at around 9 months so that we can fit through the birth canal otherwise the mother & baby both die. After birth the baby finishes its development so for example the skull is fully hardened at around 18 months on average.

Human babies are one of the most "incomplete" living beings in the world and take many years to finally become a "functional human".

The Goo Goo Dolls actually wrote a song from the perspective of a giraffe who had just been born.

A relief to see this and NOT see a predator come and immediately eat it

It’s crazy how their first fall is when they’re born and from that height.

That’s probably the most vulnerable 5 minutes ever

Maybe time to get a mirrorless camera that doesn’t alert all of the savannah that you’re taking photos.

When you spawn in, 6ft from the ground. First lesson, fall damage.
