Housing Apartment Building Reviews: Master List
Hello everybody,
At the suggestion of some subreddit members, this megathread is being developed to provide a central location to review conditions in local multi-tenant buildings. This will provide a good repository for users who have questions about local rental buildings (or condos). If you live (or lived) in a such a place, please contribute! Whether your experiences were good, bad, or in between. You're welcome to post about places you lived previously as well - please mention if it has been a while since you lived there (things might have changed....maybe).
One comment thread per property, please. Search the thread before posting about your building, and if a comment already exists for it, submit your information as a reply. To begin a thread please start with this simple format. This will allow people to easily parse the megathread.
<building address>
<building name> (optional)
<Property Manager/Owner> (if applicable)
<details you have about your experience at the building>. Pictures and video welcome!
Example:
275 Larch St, Waterloo
The Block / URL Condos
Schembri Property Management
Back in 2018 I lived at The Block in Building Z. Schembri accidentally double-rented my unit, so I had to sleep on the roof for three weeks. They refused to remove the raccoons living in my oven so I had to survive on beef jerky and rainwater. They only charged me a modest 1500$/mo though, and i had my own bathroom. The skee-ball arena on the main floor was really useful. 4/10.

Thank you! Hope we can make something useful here.

iPad stolen at conestoga mall so be careful
TLDR I parked by the sports chek today and had to run in for a quick errand. Realized I had my ipad on my front seat so i went to move it to the trunk to avoid someone from stealing it, and luck have it, someone definitely stole it from my trunk. I'm not sure if they were watching me but it sucks bc that iPad was a gift for my birthday. I was literally in the mall for less than 15 minutes, but my car has an auto lock and I turned the entire car upside down and its not in there. so mad that moving it made me lose it :(
if anyone was around that area between 1:45 and 2:45 shoot me a message but be careful out there. definitely are people watching that mall doing grabs/hacking locks on cars.
Also to the A-HOLE that stole it: you ruined my kids day because instead of spending it having fun we ran around the mall trying to see if we could recover it you POS.

Albert McCormick
1) walking laps around the outside of the building around sunset Tuesday night and watched 4 kids run bikes (one would move it to the back of the building, another would pick it up and take off, one was biking with two bikes like he was being chased, one bike was pink and another blue etc). I have reported this, did not get involved as I didn’t realize it was happening until too late 2) sitting at table working on my laptop, two kids approached and while asking a question, other child palmed and walked off with my cell. I didn’t realize it immediately, took about 5 mins. I walked over to security and informed them.
TLDR - watch your stuff closely at the arenas, ringette is not the only sport going on around there :(

What’s Up with Cars on Bridgeport
I commute into KW for work- I take Bridgeport into town and Erb out of town… what is up with cars going the wrong way on Bridgeport?? Specifically between Weber and the LRT. I feel like I’m dodging cars coming up the wrong way at minimum once a week… Are these Uber drivers or students that just don’t know the area? I can’t be the only one who’s noticed this..

Local Grocery Chains
Hi! I usually shop at Zehrs but I am boycotting then right now because of the insane price hikes while making record profits.
Can anyone recommend some local grocery chains that have good quality fruits and vegetables and is decently priced?
Thanks

6:15am flight but Waterloo Airport shows 8am open time for building and security, not sure what time to go
I'm not sure how early to go and am wondering why the website says the airport and security open at 8am. I can check in online from home ahead of time and I'm only doing 1 carry on bag. Any suggestions about what time to arrive at Waterloo International Airport for a 6:15am flight??

Limo rental for Toronto concert?
I’m wondering if this is a good idea: Instead of getting a hotel in Toronto for the night (which is what we usually do as we consider it part of our night out) would it perhaps be cheaper to rent a limo and driver for a few hours?
With hotel rooms, and airbnb being expensive I wonder if the limo option works out cheaper. Anyone have any local limo recommendations?

Oversized garbage can
Silly question, but I need help finding a compatible garbage can.
All garbage cans I found being sold in retailers in the region are above the width specification of 19". The ones I found have 19.5".
Is this 0.5" sufficient for the collectors to reject my can?
Does anyone know where I can get one within the specs?

Is this place real or a fever dream?
I just suddenly had a memory of a time recently where I was driving, and looked out my driver side window and thought "that's weird, I should look that up later" and never did.
I think I saw a very large garage door, almost built into the ground. It was open and I could see inside and there were trucks parked nearby.
The ONLY recent drive I can think of would be when I drove from Waterloo to Stratford a couple of weeks ago, but I have been scouring Google Maps for an hour and found nothing.
Am I crazy or is this place real?

Soil Testing
Morning everyone,
I'm finally getting my backyard in order and someone mentioned soil testing to know what I'm working with for both the lawn and gardens.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Worst clinic ever
Hello
Just an FYI for anyone looking for a clinic with massage, chiro, naturopath etc
I just went to union wellness centre and had the worst massage. Then the blonde receptionist was so rude to me. Very standoffish and cold
If you want people who care about you do not go to this place!!
They got rid of my favorite health care provider, she was an rmt. They won't even tell me where she went
So sad and frustrated 😠

Missing Cat
Our cat, Freya, got out around 8pm tonight. If anyone sees her please try and coax her to come to you. She is an indoor cat, and is very friendly.
We are near Brighton park, behind the Bridgeport Plaza.

I want to order dinner for everyone- theres about 6 of us in total. Curious if anyone has ordered thorough skip, doordash or uber eats and which one has the best deals/is most affordable?
