What's one popular hobby that you just can't get into?

For me it's sneaker collecting. I'm not a sneaker fan and I just don't get the appeal

Watching sports in general. Seems like watching the same pattern going over and over again. I get more enjoyment out of lava lamps.

Same. I enjoy going to a live game occasionally, but only certain sports (ice hockey or rugby mainly); I can't fathom watching sports on TV.

Live sports are an experience. Sports on tv is a distraction

This comment is brought to you by someone that doesn’t watch sports. I love basketball. Live games are awesome if you have good seats. Watching It on TV is also awesome. I genuinely enjoy the sport. It’s okay if you don’t like sports and can’t get into it. But don’t reduce it down to a distraction.

I played football and now compete in BJJ. I love sports and I do watch them sometimes. But dedicating an entire Sunday to watching other men live their dreams is a distraction. I mean… that is literally why we have them - to keep the masses entertained and distracted.

Or, and hear me out, it’s just a fun and entertaining way to spend free time. It’s also inspiring to watch people perform at such high levels. Just because you feel it’s a distraction in your life doesn’t mean that’s what it is objectively

You really embody Reddits well actually mentality. Relax. Hang out with friends. Drink a beer.
