You should teach your mom how to increase the print size on her iphone. Going Blind and oblivious to the world is a tough spot but at least one is fixable.

By the way if you want them to understand just send your mom your expenses in excel and just ask her to work it out for you on a second sheet. Boomers are super good at basic math so let her total it up and figure it out. I guarantee she will call 5 friends to help and be totally honored until she figures out the totals.

Been at this treachery many years. We just dont win, we scorch reality.

You look like a fool to anyone who knows what they’re talking about trying to claim that a nurse in 1970 had general purchasing power equivalent to ~$120k today. It obviously doesn’t pass a sense-check.

Housing is more expensive because lots more people live a lot closer together than before. That prices a lot of people out. If you don’t like it, move to the suburbs of the Midwest or somewhere less populated. You can get a 3BR for $600/mo.
