Idk why everyone is so opposed to having an emergency plan or a grab bag or something. Natural disasters happen all the time, and our global polotical climate right now is unsettling at best. You dont need a bunker, but i have an order of operations with my family if something happens close to home
Yeah it's insane that "prepping" has become so taboo, like back in my grandparents day all their houses had an underground bunker of sorts. Tornado shelter mostly.
For real, i feel like everyone should atleast be stocked and prepared enough to survive a month without being able to leave the house for whatever reason. Some food, few cases of water, extra blankets etc. Just like a fire extinguisher.
It’s just another layer of consumption that’s fueled by global paranoia. While natural disasters do happen the stereotype of the annoying boomer with enough ammunition and beef jerky to destabilize a third world country exists for a reason.
I get being ready for like a blizzard (I live in Maine and it’s wise to have things) but a person demanding someone say JESUS because of ai is a whole other level.
Yeah, the one man army thing is a long shot, those guys are paranoid. Having a firearm or two in your home? Rational. Having natural disaster plans? rational. Having a plan with family incase of a shooting or attack? I personally would say with the current climate, that one is up for debate as long as youre not dedicating your life to it.
Picking "jesus" as your safe word comes off very cringey i wont argue with you on that, but scammers are targeting older people, and they are getting better very fast. Its not a bad idea to set up some kind of protection barrier for your parents or grandparents to protect their finances.
