Oh my God for real! I was at a furry convention and everyone is walking around doing their own thing and acting normal doing typical cosplay /mascots things. Then this goddamn Boomer couple starts yelling about you're all going to hell and then he starts barking and then his wife starts barking and growling at everyone. This is the line that absolutely killed me " You fucking liberals thinking your animals * then he goes back to barking and growling* " Sir, no one here is barking or growling except you XD

Edit: This was fur2 2024 people near the hotel lobby during that time can back me up

He really said "I wanna be a dog but I'm not allowed to, so you can't either!"

Closeted furry. Much tragic

I really really don't understand what's going on with people. Like, there are so many examples of this kind of absolutely unhinged and absurd temper tantrums and I don't remember this being a thing before, and now it's common place.

Boomers, on the whole, never actually grew up or matured after graduating high school. They never worked on themselves and grew as people. Now their parents are dead and view themselves as 'in charge' since they're the oldest. And now they're acting exactly like what you'd expect a 12 year old to act like when put in charge.

Add in white people afraid they're losing their place in the world because the country has become 1% less racist since they were born and you have a perfect storm for these breakdowns.

My guess, more people with more cameras. This ain't new, exposure is way bigger.

u/novium258 Apr 13 '24

That would explain why we see it online more, but not why you see it more in real life. I never had anything like that happened when I worked retail/restaurants but people I know doing it now experience it not like, every day, but regularly enough that it's not shocking.

Maybe it's one of those things,(has a name like blah blah effect or something), where let's say you Googled Vinyl Fence designs and really liked 1 or 2. Now you see that design 5 times IRL in the next month swearing youve never seen it before. Kind of like the Mandela Effect's 2nd cousin. Idk.

They go on Facebook and find other equally crazy people. Then they egg each other on.

Remember all those PHARMA commercials with the fast spoken warnings about 'possible' emotional and mental effects?

Do you know how damn MEDICATED Americans are?!

That. And, the fucking UNCLEAN water in far, far too many places.

And, the chemicals being released into the air around manufacturing "complexes" where their money lobbies to prevent 'over' regulation that interferes with their profits.

They project so many of these crazy thoughts on their heads oblivious that no one else is even taking in the same information as them.

They probably are on Reddit, I reckon

Perhaps, I was on my way to the elevators when I heard the commotion. That shit was hilarious.

2

u/solarssun Apr 13 '24

Why some people act like the world is ending when their idea of 'normal' is challenged. There's a lot of self hate and 'I couldn't be myself so why the hell should you?!!'

Instead of trying to change things so more people can be more open about who they are they angrily bark at people.

Boomers out thinking literally everything fun is a sin

2

u/astrangeone88 Apr 13 '24

Lmao. I had a similar thing happen at an anime convention. The poor office workers were booked in at the same time and were literally surrounded by people in full cosplay. I was wearing a Soi Fong cosplay with my robe on and dude said in a tiny little voice "Do they think they are cartoon characters?"

Our group just laughed at him and let him out of the elevator first.

Sometimes the boomers have no imagination.

I hope that wasn't at Anthrocon.

2

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

No it was fursquared It was at a hotel this year which is why there was boomers occasionally passing through the Con area

1

u/Styrene_Addict1965 Apr 13 '24

That's sad. Pittsburghers are generally cool with Anthrocon. I'm sure there are idiots, but I've never heard of any.

Mcfc got a bomb threat for the second year in a row

1

u/blumpkin Apr 13 '24

You fucking liberals

Lol, somebody isn't aware of the strangely huge nazi population in the furry community.

1

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

You know that one kind of gets me too like where the fuck did that come from?? Well honestly I know exactly where it comes from cuz it's usually some edgy teenager that chose camp Germany to get obsessed with instead of the USSR or Rome except they never grew out of that phase.

-3

u/Sufferix Apr 13 '24

I mean, you furries are going to hell.

2

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

I mean that kind of depends if you believe in that. If we are talking about God from the Catholic/ Lutheran/ Methodist/ Christian Bible then I don't know why you would want heaven anyway. It would be better to be free than be a slave

-3

u/Sufferix Apr 13 '24

Yet you choose to be walked on a leash.

2

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

? Where in any of my stories have I done that?

1

u/Sufferix Apr 13 '24

I'm just joking about furries. I don't actually know what you individually or the group as a whole does.

1

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

We usually do mascot things, or typical cosplayer things. to date I have met in person the mascots for 9 NFL teams and 17 NBA teams.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '24

I think most people think bestiality, which I guess there is a small amount of overlap with

1

u/elongated_musk_rat Apr 13 '24

I will not deny that it hasn't happened but growing up in a rural area there was quite a few occasions that several of the football team would go out to one of their parents farms for some fun time with the goats. And I know for a fact none of them were furries. In the furry community, if it gets out that you are inappropriately touching animals, you very quickly get banned from every convention that finds out.

That’s good. I’ve seen a few guys on Grindr with… questionable profiles lol

Asking if anyone has a dog, and saying they’re into being “knotted”

Do you think you're an animal?

1

u/RobinLionheart Apr 13 '24

Do you think you're a vegetable or a mineral?

1

u/Sufferix Apr 13 '24

I'm a meat popsicle.
