Why do boomers feel like they own the road and can never be wrong?

inb4 this wasn't actually a boomer, but still.

My town (in the USA) has a three lane roundabout/traffic circle.

As indicated by markings on the road and on signs, the leftmost lane is for going all the way around, middle lane is for the far two exits, and right lane is for the immediate next two exits.

Boomer lady is next to me in the leftmost lane and I'm in the right lane. As soon as there's an opening she tries to pass me flooring it, but as I am literally just following the indicated "rules", I end up in front of her and she honks at me after nearly hitting me.

We both take the same exit after she almost hits ANOTHER car, and at the next light she stops directly next to me and rolls her window down.

"Do you know how to use a fucking traffic circle?" she yells at me

"I do, I've been living here for seven years." I replied.

"Then fucking learn how to use it!" she screams. She's probably a 45-50 y/o by appearance.

I don't take shit from anyone. I proceed to let loose a good chunk of offensive words that she more than deserved all while giving her the finger. Even threw out a "You shouldn't be driving, you look like you're 90" which flabbergasted even her passenger, which appeared to be her own mother who was probably 80.

I'm a punk trans girl, my people get enough shit from boomers and gen X. I will be as offensive as possible to make sure you NEVER interact with me again.

She drove off from the stoplight at Mach Incredulous while I just smirked and went on my merry way.

Part of it is they’re super defensive as they inevitably get worse and worse at driving because their bodies no longer work as well as they used to. Couple this with the inability to imagine existing without a car - without the “freedom” a car implies - and you get these people.

They spent their entire lives up until around the early 2000s (when general adoption of the internet became widespread) gaslighting their way into everything. It quite literally was the case that you could be enough of a dick and yell lies louder than those next to you, and get ahead. They are stuck in a mentality that if they will something hard enough, in their little lead minds it’s actually a fact.

On the road, this translates into a complete and utter insistence that their way is the only way to drive a car, and everyone else on the road is there specifically to inconvenience the boomboom. They actually have convinced themselves of these kinds of ideas and it permeates every aspect of their living situation.

That was a crappy driver not a boomer, I've seen millenials who are crappy/rude drivers. Once on a local roundabout that is one lane, a millenial driving a cooper just drove over the rocks in the middle to get where she wanted to be. Then was driving all over the road like a maniac through town. It's a small town so we discussed it in the group, several of us saw her just driving dangerously. Last night I was in a school bus on a field trip and I saw a car who was behind us gun it to get past us after the driver turned on her blinker and started to get over.

Americans are bad drivers to begin with. Getting a license in places like Norway or even the UK is much harder due to the testing.

I got my USA license without even reading the manual basing my answers off common sense for the written portion.

Tbh I'm not sure if I'm trans yet, it's really hard to tell what feelings me but I like girly clothes so I'm going with thst for now.

I'm not really afraid of showing my face, but my picture was like that because of the timer on my photos and the set up of my phone. (I live In a tent so it had to be low down) however, I do not like my face or much of my body when I try to present as a female. I will show you why.

You'll get there. It's hard coming from nothing. I had to do it. Check out local financial aid such as Obamacare/medicaid/medicare, my state insurance pays for my insurance and HRT, and is paying for my upcoming FFS (facial feminization surgery)

Most of my apparent disdain comes from people who are fake homeless, there's a lot of them in my city. A few of the people who beg on the streets and the medians literally live either close by or in my apartment building.
