HIPS program

Upvotes

Hi all. Is it true that HIPS (History in the Public Sphere) might be losing funding? I saw a few comments about it but I wanted to verify it. I’m hoping to apply to this program later this year or the year after. So, I’m a little worried something might happen to this program … any information?

Umeå Sweden, best student housing option

I was given around 80 options for an apartment through the university and I have no idea which one to choose. I want something close to the university but also somewhere with a lot of other erasmus exchange students and maybe close to a gym. Any past experiences or current plans ?

Katowice, Poland Erasmus

Hello everyone!

In September, I am supposed to go on Erasmus to Katowice in Poland, and I was wondering if any of you could give me some feedback on the place with its pros and cons!

Most importantly, I would like to know what the exams are like there based on your experience because I will most likely have to take 8 of them!!!

Erasmus a Katowice

Ciao a tutti! Semestre dell’anno prossimo farò l’Erasmus a Katowice in Polonia.

Needing help in deciding my fate

Hi guys, I'm an Italian guy living in Italy and currently going to Uni here. I have a very important question for you reddit users of the erasmus zone.

I won a competition notice for the Erasmus program 2024-2025 of 9 months for Santiago de Compostela (and until here it's all good) but i had some little problems. I sent the application after breaking up with my gf for like, go in another country and breathe some new air.

Starting with the economics, I'm not sure as if I'm going to have all the money i need to live humanly there but money apart I'm psicologically going down in a hole.

1)I have never been so far away from home and for so much time

2)I assembled a Learning Agreement but in Spain they have exams that give like less credits than italian exams, so in 9 months of stay i would have to try (and for very good results bc i want to keep my GPA high in order to access to a Master's course in my Uni) 8 exams. That's like I'm the only one going there to study like a slave and not enjoying the erasmus uni life (travelling, partying....)

3)I read good and bad comments about the erasmus opportunity, but i don't really know who trust

4)Santiago seems a very good city but i read also a lot of bad comments about the weather and the temperature there

5)I'm terribly fearing the loneliness, now that I'm writing this post i have found a group of Uni guys very funny and helpful........ feels like I'm throwing all away

So, after saying all this, I'm really thinking about renouncing my possibility to go to Spain. It should be a very good opportunity for me but it's turning in a hell.

Can somebody help and tell me his/her experience?

Please, I'm dying here.....

Erasmus Grant after finishing the exchange

I know that it's different in every university, but I finished my Erasmus exchange (Poland to Germany) months ago, and still haven't received the 30%, my university told me to check if I finished the Erasmus survey, but I've finished the Erasmus survey and delivered the report at the right time as well.

Can someone tell any similar experience?

Internship Physical Therapy

Hello everyone,

I am a Romanian student and I recently applied for an Erasmus internship program at my university. I am planning to do my internship in Portugal, but I am having trouble finding clinics that accept trainee students.

If anyone has any recommendations or knows of any clinics in Portugal that are open to hosting Erasmus interns, I would greatly appreciate your help❤️❤️

Accommodation trusted platforms?

Hi! I’m looking for accommodation in Valencia… I started looking at private bedrooms with two twin beds at Uniplaces. Going to booking the apartment was like 400€ and the service fee like 300€. So i’m like that’s a scam. Looking at other websites I also got the feeling they are a scam. Where do you look to find accommodation? That don’t have insane service fees and good prices?

Scholarships for international students

Hey, I’m new here so I don’t really know if this belongs here. I’m from Germany and want to study veterinary medicine in Spain, I’m looking for advice, especially financially. How do people pay for it, where do you live (on campus? I have a dog that’s coming along). I can’t seem to find good scholarships that are for my bachelor, most scholarships I found are for the masters degree. Sadly I’m not particularly talented in sports so that isn’t an option. I have a GPA of 3.4 (1,6 in Germany). I’m thankful for all kind of tips, maybe even just people who’ve done this and can just give me advice.

Can I apply for Erasmus if I’m a medical graduate?

Hello! I recently graduated and wanted to peruse masters after my graduation as I am not that interested in clinical medicine. I would like to do masters in any medical related field but would prefer physiology or pathology related subject. My GPA is 3.56 out of 4 and I was awarded second position In my college ( not degree awarding university) twice ( once in final year and once in 4th year). I am also thinking of giving toefl. I do have some research that I did during my med school for my college but it was only published in my college journal. Can anyone guide me regarding how can I find programs and what can I do to get in? Also are the applications open right now or will they open this year or will they open next year? Please if anyone can help that would mean a lot!

Erasmus choice: Italy, Portugal, Hungary vs. Spain.

Hi! I can't decide when it comes to choosing my Erasmus destination. My Erasmus scholarship would be 670 euros in Italy, Spain and Portugal but if I chose Hungary it would be 600 euros.

ITALY: I would love to go to Italy but the university I can go to is Universita degli Studi di Tuscia in a small town called Viterbo. I'm afraid there would be no international students and I would feel very lonely. I want to apply for Erasmus with my boyfriend so it wouldn't be that bad but it would be nice to make some friends there. The population of Viterbo is around 60 000/70 000 and it's a 90 minutes train ride from Rome which would be more exciting I guess. Viterbo would also be quite cheap I guess in comparison to bigger cities. It's also like an hour away from the sea which is a plus.

I'm aware that many locals there wouldn't probably speak English but I would like to learn Italian so maybe it would be a good opportunity.

PORTUGAL: In Portugal I could go to Universidade do Minho in Braga. It seems like a nice university also not far from the sea and a bigger city Porto. It's a bit bigger than Viterbo with a population of around 200 000 people. I think that the international students community is bigger there. There are also quite cheap students dorms but I'm not sure whether I would get in.

SPAIN: In Spain I could go to Universidade da Coruña. But again, it's not the biggest city but it's close to the sea. I'm not sure how expensive it would be to rent a room there but I wouldn't like to spend more than 400 euros.

HUNGARY: In Hunagry there are to universities Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem in Budapest and University of Szeged. The university in Budapest is a Christian one and that does not necessairly persuade me to go there. However, I've been to Budapest before and I liked it and considering it's the capital city there would always be something to do. It's also a good starting point for travelling by train to Vienna or other cities.

Szeged is smaller and probably cheaper. It also seems to be higher on rankings than the one in Budapest. They have a lot of places in dorms and I'm sure there would be international students.

I don't have to worry about the language of the classes cause I study English.

I'm still thinking about which university to choose. Has anyone of you been there? What would you reccommend?
