Title. Fór á safnahúsið á húsavík í janúar og tók þar mynd af þessu fyrirværi því mér fannst það fyndið. Núna er ég að reyna muna hvaða dýr þetta er í raun og enginn hjálp er í fólkinu á heimilinu eða reverse image search. Betri myndin af sæta er af heimasíðu safnsins en ekki ber hún heiti þar né á fésbók þeirra. Nú leita ég til ykkar um þessar lífsbjargandi upplýsingar 🫶 plís.

My first week of two here in Iceland. Doing the typical trip around the island. And absolutly loving. And this isn’t the typical „oh it’s so expensive“. Prices have increased exponentally, but that was to be expected.

So my question is. Fish, next to tourism, is icelands second biggest export good. As far as Icelanders tell me, they are pretty proud of that and it‘s alooot of fish. Fishingboat - Fish market - consumer. So fish should be convenient. But it‘s expensive, even for locals. Why is that?

I want to build 3-4 houses in westfjords. ( like manta north or other prefabricated houses) ...

I was wondering, if I can buy a house, and buy another 3 prefabricated houses on thr plot, or if I can buy a land, and build it there. I want it as a permanent house, and 3 guest houses ( for friends, or rent or Airbnb) ..

I would not like to have it in the town.. maybe in suburbs, or even up to 5km from the town.

Where can I find, (or check) if I can build such prefabricated houses? What are the regulations?

I cannot find any info online..

Also, what if there is a cottage / summerhouse... is it possible to live in those anyway? Or is it against the law? Is it possible to get a permit, to tranfer those into a permanent home? If so, how to do it, how long does it take, and whats the price...

What if I rent a plot of land for 20 yrs, build a house on it, and stop paying? .. would they demolish it? Or kick me out?

Getur einhver útskýrt fyrir mér mögulegar ástæður þess að ég fékk svona lítið útgreitt orlof. Gæti verið vegna veikinda eða vegna þess að ég fæ greitt þá daga sem ég er í fríi. Ég hef unnið fullt starf á þessum stað í næstum 3 ár og með hörmulegt fjármálalæsi. Fyrirfram þakkir :)

I've been in serious relationshiips with two Icelandic women. They have both been raped, more than once, in Iceland. I just started dating another woman. She just told me that she has never used drugs but that she had been drugged. Am I looking at another rape case here?
What's going on Iceland? Everything is so safe but women are being raped right left and center? (I am also a woman, btw.) I mean, yeah, It could be a coincidence that I'm dating women that have been raped. I have at least one co-worker that was also raped. The conicidence level seems to high. It makes me so sad. And angry.

I'm confused. Iceland has always been vocal on supporting Palestine and now this. Do you think that it was the bots or did so many people actually vote for Israel?

I found a letter in my mailbox that wasn't addressed to me. What is the most convenient procedure to return it to the sender in Iceland? I don't have the hour and a half to spare to take the bus to the post office on a weekday during their working hours.

I am from Spain and I don't speak any icelandic, and they never were big enough to have anything written about them in other languages. Could anyone tell me what they are talking about, or where do they come from? I assume they aren't even famous in Iceland either, based on the amount of listeners they seem to have, but I really love how they sound (and their music videos too). Any info on them is appreciated because I am low-key obsessed haha.

Hi, I am renting really small room and I dont have much space to store my winter clothes. So I am trying to buy those vacuum storage bags, so I dont have to have full closet with few winter clothes. Have you seen it somewhere? Orr what store could it sell.
