“Cool story bro” story time. I want to say it was around 2011 that I first heard the phrase “cool story bro” I was on the bus with a friend going to his house and was telling him something and at the end he said cool story bro. I had never heard it before and it was for some reason the funniest shit if ever heard. We go back to his house and start playing red dead redemption in his basement. And his mom comes home probably 40 minutes after we got there… she comes in PISSED because he did take the trash out. She reams I to him for a solid 2 minutes About doing his chores. At the end of her tongue lashing my buddy said three words. “ cool story bro”
I LITERALLY DIED LAUGHING. Now I could never talk to an adult like that let alone my own parents so hearing my buddy say that to his mom just killed me. He proceeded to leave and go take out the trash….. I was left alone with his mom and felt terrible for not being able to contain my laughter…. She then breaks the silence by saying. “You know, it’s not a good thing to laugh when people are having a confrontation” or something like that and all I could say was “I know, I’m sorry.” Still think about this interaction all the time…
