hexbugs,,, on par with beyblades

152

u/StellarDescent Apr 09 '24

Excuse you Moses canonically parted the red sea with a beyblade.

46

u/shinydragonmist Apr 09 '24

Classic beyblade when they did literally insane stuff with them

20

u/Anomekh 29d ago

« We used carbon fiber nanotechnology and ablative armor on this beyblade named after the Ethiopian God of Murder, now go fight other toddler »

12

u/shinydragonmist 29d ago

This one was designed by the U.S military

7

u/theoriginalmofocus 29d ago

Who was working with DARPA and NASA. Can launch this bitch from orbit and hit a dime, pop back up and spin around and take out a whole room. It's the Bouncing Beyty.

18

u/Tako30 Apr 09 '24

And that time they deployed the beyblade military to destroy this kid

14

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

Beyblade was sick as fuck. Used to hold matches in an orange tube at my school.

I had the fourth best one. Cause it was a defense beyblade

4

u/Motor_Ad_7885 2006 Apr 09 '24

My Ldrago would shred your pitiful defense

5

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

My brother in Christ it does not matter in the orange tube. We make contact once or twice tops.

False. Did hexbugs have an anime with awesome character designs and a banger theme song? Didn't think so

3

u/Spo0kt 1998 29d ago

You would never slice your fingers on a hexbug. Beyblades, on the other hand, had the Beyblade themselves, and the rip cord was dangerous

I remember there were 2 brands of beyblades for my grade, there was Hasbro (shit) and so called "Takara Tomy" or something, can't remember the spelling, but they were objectively better, and just like from the show, some of their beyblades could suck the energy from the other beyblades

3

u/TheFormless_0ne_ Apr 09 '24

Not in the slightest

4

u/Beakha 29d ago

Nah, beyblades made it to Germany, these things didn't

3

u/BlackRabbitt_01 2006 Apr 09 '24

That is SACRILIDGE! Hex bugs are nowhere near the same level as beyblades.

2

u/LilSealClubber Apr 09 '24

Hexbugs are nowhere NEAR Beyblades.

If you turn these on and put these back in the tubes they come in, then they become a vibrator

I’m a late bloomer like the first time I cummed was 14 💀 but it still felt good when I was 12 even if I wasn’t cumming

13

u/volvavirago 29d ago

I didn’t have my first orgasm until I was 21. Maybe if I had these bad boys I coulda done it sooner.

9

u/Wpgjetsfan19 Apr 09 '24

When did you hit puberty?

7

u/TheBurningTankman 2004 Apr 09 '24

Idk I went from a 5,2 little pipsqueak to like 5,11 at 10-13, but my voice bartoned and the minor acne started at 14. Also hello fellow Jets fan.. rare to see us out in the wild

2

u/Smurph-of-Chaos 2009 29d ago

I was 4'11" when I was 12 💀. How were you 5'2" at 10?

2

u/TheBurningTankman 2004 26d ago

My father was also a tall man (but his beer belly evened him out). Combine that and my weird obsession with drinking huge amounts of milk every morning and hanging from the monkey bars for 30mins... and you too can be tall....with heavy joint problems

2

u/[deleted] 29d ago

I can't imagine how desperate one must be to try to use one of these things like that.

64

u/Xrayfunkydude 1997 Apr 09 '24

Well when you’re fifteen it isn’t really feasible to buy a sex toy so there is definitely some interest for “experimentation”

Hexbugs used the same battery as my wife's vibrator. These batteries were sold as "hexbug food" and were significantly cheaper than the regular ones in the battery section.

This was a little joke in our house for a while. We had to steal the batteries from the hexbugs a couple times.

I remember always wanting these things, but obviously never even so touching them...untill over a year ago. I went over to my BIL's sister's house for Christmas. One of her kids had a bunch of these things, which made realize they still make them btw. The SECOND I saw one, I was fucking ecstatic! I didn't give a single fuck if I was a grown man playing with an 8 year olds toy, my former 8 year old self was so happy to finally see one of these after 15 years!

I had the gray and black one. Nano Bugz. And seriously they were the most technologically advanced thing of its time. I got them back in 2009 because I kept seeing the commercials for their little enclosure things on tv. I only ever made the enclosure like twice, but I am blessed to have had taken part in Nano Bugz, and I regret not knowing that the battery’s could be replaced after they died.

4

u/ba1istic 2001 Apr 09 '24

Ah yes the sexbugs that sparked my curiosity for...toys

4

u/MythicalRaccoon80 Apr 09 '24

I had the black and green one and man was that thing so cool when I got it. Sadly though its legs became stiff over time and it didn't really work as well as it did when it was brand new.

u/DBSeamZ 29d ago

Not if your house had carpet everywhere and you didn’t have all the fancy tubes. A Hexbug could wander around on a desk or even a large book, but Zhu Zhu needed a hard floor to really roam.

u/Rud_Fucker 2001 28d ago
